As our Sous Chef, DJ has been an instrumental part of our culinary team, especially during the recent transition with our Executive Chef. His dedication, consistency, and commitment to excellence have helped ensure that our residents continue to enjoy the exceptional dining experience they expect and deserve.

At our recent Town Hall meeting, Bernita shared with residents, “I know that without DJ, we could not serve you the way we do.” That statement speaks volumes about the impact DJ makes every day.

DJ is known for his loyalty, strong work ethic, and willingness to step up whenever needed. Whether he's supporting the kitchen team behind the scenes or helping create memorable dining experiences for our residents, he brings professionalism and heart to everything he does.

One of the best parts of life at Spring Harbor is the opportunity to form meaningful connections. Our newest residents were recently welcomed during a Meet & Greet social hour complete with a fun and interactive game of Get-to-Know-You Bingo that had everyone mingling and sharing stories.

🚌 Have You Seen Us Around Town? 👀

Recently, someone called to tell us they had seen our bus out and about in Columbus and noticed something special — our residents always look so happy. We couldn't agree more!

While there is always a full calendar of activities happening right here on campus, we also make it easy for residents to enjoy all that our community has to offer. Whether we're headed to a concert at Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, catching a performance at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, enjoying lunch with friends, or making a trip to Green Island Grocery, our residents love getting out and staying connected to the local community.

Our transportation services provide the freedom to enjoy concerts, shows, dining, shopping, cultural experiences, and everyday errands without the stress of driving. It's just one of the many ways we help residents maintain an active, engaged, and independent lifestyle.

So, if you see the Spring Harbor bus around town, be sure to give us a wave. Chances are, our residents are on their way to another fun adventure!

We’re truly grateful—not just for this milestone, but for what it represents: a warm, vibrant community filled with residents who make Spring Harbor feel like home. From everyday laughter to meaningful friendships, it’s the people here who create something special.

This is a true team effort, and we’re thankful for our residents and staff who bring that spirit to life every day.

While we are fully sold, opportunities do come up—but they tend to move quickly. A limited number of one-bedroom residences may open in the upcoming months, and for those planning ahead, we strongly encourage joining our waitlist for larger apartment homes so you’re first in line when something becomes available.

🌟 Congratulations to Our June Wellness Ambassador of the Month, Richard Wilson! 🌟

This month, we're proud to recognize Mr. Richard Wilson as our Wellness Ambassador of the Month! Richard and his wife, Anne, are actively involved in life at Spring Harbor, and Richard is known for being a great encourager and a source of positivity during our fitness classes and activities.

Richard regularly participates in Aquafit, Yoga, and Chair Volleyball, with Aquafit being his favorite.

💬 "It is great for stretching, flexibility, balance, and strength retention."

Through staying active, Richard has seen improvements in his overall wellness, particularly in his balance and flexibility.

When asked what advice he would give fellow residents, Richard shared:

💬 "Exercise (and good sleep) is proven to help increase longevity and overall well-being. Group activities also lead to new and closer friendships."

And here's a fun fact you may not know about him:

✈️ During his training as a Navy pilot, Richard flew his first 14 flights in a jet aircraft with Senator John McCain!

We had such a fun time celebrating our May birthdays! 🎉🎂🥂

Residents enjoyed cake, champagne, laughs, and great company while we celebrated together. We missed everyone who couldn’t make it, but we were definitely celebrating you too!
