🧘🏻♀️🧘🏼♂️🧘🏿 Balance and flexibility in your later years are imperative to your health and well-being.
As a physically active woman since I was a teenager, the kind of body movement I do has changed significantly over the years.
I taught aerobics in college, I was a runner in my 30’s who fell and had to have knee surgery, I was in a car accident which has taken pickle-ball out of my life and reduced my hiking days, plus my ability to use the stairmaster ever again at the gym.
🧘🏻♀️ Yoga, which I’ve done in the past, has now become a significant part of this new journey for me.
This is a gentle reminder that pushing yourself through injuries to do any form of body movement will likely incur more damage than good.
Learning to adapt as we age is part of being human. So check in with yourself and ask yourself why you’re doing the exercise you’re doing?
