Wanda Jo Branom, 94, passed away at her home in Fayette, Alabama on Monday, June 8, 2026. She was born on March 29, 1932, in Cumby, TX to I.N. (Boy) Preston and Clara Ann Hall. Wanda worked for the Dallas ISD in the Food Service Division. She married Leonard Branom on May 27, 1949, in Reno, NV.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Branom Holley of Fayette, AL; Granddaughter Misty Patriquin and husband Lorne of Fayette, Al; Grandson Bryan Branom and wife Terra of Commerce, TX; great grandchildren: Brandi Shamburger, Brandon Branom and Briseis Branom all of Commerce, TX; great great grandchildren: Brooklyn Shamburger of Quitman, TX, Kolston Stuart of Greenville, TX and Kynslee Shamburger of Commerce, TX. She is also survived by her sister Linda Copeland of Paragould, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; very very special friends Bobby and Wanda Ford of Dallas, TX.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents I.N. (Boy) Preston and Clara Hall; husband Leonard Branom, brothers: James Duke and Charley Preston; and sisters: Bobbie JuneCurtsinger and Doris Crisel.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ridgeway Cemetery with Grandson Bryan Branom officiating.

Pallbearers will be James Garner, Scott Garner, Tommy Ford, Kyle Shamburger, Weston Shamburger and Kaleb Hoelscher.

Rickey Darron Richardson, a revered figure known for his dedication to community, family, and sport, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at his residence. Born on April 1, 1968, in Paris, Texas, Rickey lived a life marked by commitment and spirited engagement, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He married Michele Taylor on August 23, 1997 in Paris, Texas, a union that spanned nearly 29 years.

A graduate of Gunter High School, Rickey furthered his education and athletic pursuits at Paris Junior College, where he demonstrated his passion for baseball. His love for sports extended into his professional and personal life through over three decades as a beloved softball coach. Rickey’s coaching was distinguished not only by skill but also by his unwavering commitment to helping his players achieve their fullest potential.

Rickey's career in the automotive industry spanned more than 30 years, culminating in his role as Sales Manager at Matthews Honda in Paris. His leadership and dedication in the car business earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

An outgoing and forthright individual, Rickey was known for his very competitive nature and his honesty—qualities that defined his interactions and leadership roles. He lived by the inspiring motto, "Always leave it better than you found it," a principle that shaped his contributions to education and community. He was especially proud of his service on the school boards of Paris Independent School District and North Lamar Independent School District, where he worked tirelessly to enhance educational opportunities for youth.

Rickey is survived by his loving wife, Michele, his cherished children: Reagan Minter (Adam), Macy Floyd (Kellen), and Ashleigh Johnson (Heidi). He also leaves behind his beloved granddaughter, Megan Joyce Minter (MJ), who brought immense joy to his later years. His family circle includes his mother-in-law, Donna Davis, and father-in-law, Harold Davis, along with a very special aunt and uncle, Vicki Crawford (who he regarded as a second mother) and John Boggs. Special cousins Cayla Norwood, Cade Crawford, and Hunter Lovelady, together with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, also carry his memory forward.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Laverne Lovelady Richardson; father, Larry Leon Richardson; and grandparents Lonnie Leon Richardson and Ida Pauline Richardson, as well as grandmother AvaNell Toon.

Rickey Darron Richardson’s legacy is one of spirited engagement, unwavering honesty, and heartfelt commitment. His life embodied a pursuit not only of personal success but of meaningful impact. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him, and his memory will continue to inspire those who carry forward his values of kindness, competitiveness, and community stewardship.

Visitation for Rickey will be held Tuesday night, June 9, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at His Place Fellowship, 925 Tx. Hwy. 24 Paris, Texas and his funeral services will be held at the same location on Wednesday June 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Terry Bryan, Bro. Kevin Towery and Bro. Corey Jones officiating. Those serving as pallbearers include: Cade Crawford, Hunter Lovelady, Paul Stephens, Stacy McNeal, Kyle Smith and Kevin Towery. Ed Naudin and Paul Camacho will be honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris.

The family has requested that all flowers be sent to His Place Fellowship or donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

With a career spanning over fifty years as a Funeral Director, Richard earned profound respect and admiration from those he served and worked alongside. One of his proudest achievements was receiving a pin commemorating his half-century dedication to this noble profession, a testament to his unwavering devotion and compassionate care. Alongside this vocation, he also shared his knowledge and kindness as an elementary school teacher, touching the lives of countless young students.

Richard's involvement extended beyond his professional life. A devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce, Texas, he was an active participant in his faith community. His passions included being a Life Member of the American Amateur Radio Relay and the VHF-FM Society. He further contributed through his Rotary Club membership and advocacy as a member of the Texas Federation of Teachers, reflecting his lifelong commitment to communication, education, and service.

He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Kari Anne Norton Awalt and Brent Awalt; his son, Christopher Allen Norton and daughter in law, Vanessa Norton; and his cherished grandchildren, Hailey Awalt and Charlotte Awalt, and Afton Norton who brought great joy to his life. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence A. Norton and Helen D. Faris Norton.

Richard Allen Norton's legacy is defined not only by his professional accomplishments but also by his dedication to his family, faith, and community. His gentle spirit, steadfast friendship, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A Memorial Service for Richard will be held in the Jones-Walker Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026 with Bro.Terry Bryan officiating.

As the Restaurant Manager at the Blue Oyster in Florida, Shirley thrived in an environment that reflected her natural warmth and ability to bring people together. Her career was more than a job; it was a testament to her leadership and spirit, qualities that resonated in every corner of her life.

Beyond her professional world, Shirley’s soul found joy in the simple, profound acts of kindness and nurturance. She loved volunteering at the food pantry, where her generosity sowed countless seeds of hope. Her kitchen was a sanctuary of flavors and love, where cooking was an art imbued with care. Gardening connected her to the earth’s rhythms, mirroring the nurturing she offered her family. Above all, Shirley treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren, weaving a tapestry of memories that shimmer with laughter, guidance, and unwavering affection.

Her family remains as a living legacy to her enduring impact. Her daughter, Barbara Ingram, alongside her husband David, continues to honor Shirley’s spirit in Cumby, Texas. Shirley’s lineage blossoms with her granddaughter Jennifer Allen and her husband Kerry, also of Cumby, and her grandson Chris Williams of Lone Oak, Texas, who carry forward her values and love. The generational chain sparkles with the presence of great-grandchildren Madison Scott and her husband Joe, Autumn Allen, Tessa Allen, and Austin Thomas, as well as great-great-grandchildren Aubree, Jaxon, and Koby, each a testament to Shirley’s nurturing heart.

Shirley’s siblings Jim Shannon remains near, a reminder of the bonds forged in childhood and sustained through life’s seasons. Though departed are her beloved husband John Verner, daughter Willia Cody, and siblings Ray Shannon, Louise Shannon, Vilinda Shannon, and Donald Shannon, their memories are woven deeply into the fabric of Shirley’s story, a story that will continue to be told with reverence and love.

Shirley Ann Verner’s life was a glowing beacon of kindness, family devotion, and community commitment. She passed gently, leaving behind an indelible imprint on the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Alma Marie Moyer, born January 30, 1932, in Hays, Kansas, passed away on April 19, 2026, in Commerce, Texas.

Alma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived a life centered on family, faith, and love. She worked at TWA and was known for her creativity and passion for writing. Alma wrote four books and published one, and she lovingly wrote poems for family birthdays, leaving behind words that will be cherished for generations.

She was widely known for her excellent cooking, her warm and loving smile, and the way she made those around her feel cared for. Alma served as a Eucharistic Catholic minister, reflecting her deep faith and commitment to others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene Moyer, who passed on April 18, 2015, and her daughter, Jill, who passed on August 4, 2025.

She is survived by her children Val, Ron, Randy, Ken, and Lisa, along with 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Alma also had three brothers: Larry Schafer, John Schafer, and Francis Schafer and two sisters: Gladys Wensel and JoAnne Labarge.

Alma is now reunited with her beloved husband, Ralph.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Interment will be at the Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce, Tx. with Ken Moyer, Jon Zebendon, David Moyer, Troy Frisbie, Logan Zebendon, and James Virgin serving as pallbearers.

Loyce Waits, 82, of Celeste passed away on Friday morning April 17, 2026. He was born in Athens, Texas located in Henderson County on February 9, 1944, to Henry Dean Waits and Rena Ray (Green) Waits.

Loyce is survived by his daughters: Holly McKay (Jeffrey), Rena Rané Waits (Keith Schnacke) and son, Kyle Waits; grandchild Dylan McKay (Brooke) and great-grandchild Rosalie McKay.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gilbert, Johnny, James Weldon, Earnest, Henry Jr. and sisters Edna Hunt, Wanda Jones, Bettye Ruth (Corky) Ford, Mazaline Rummelhart and his twin sister Joyce Waits, along with several nieces and nephews.

The Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Bonham VA staff members for their care over the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
