Shop. Save. Support.

Come out and see us next Thursday and Friday, July 23rd & 24th!

Grab all new outfits, or just a few pieces. Grab a few pairs of shoes while you're at it, because all clothing and shoes will be 25%-75% off.

Already have this year's stellar outfits for your student? Why not upgrade their weekend or afterschool looks. Get them a knock-around pair of shoes, or 2...3 everyday pair. Chances are they have outgrown last year's.

Have they outgrown them? We've got you, just bag (13 gallon or smaller please) or box them up, swing around behind the store to drop them off (gently used only) and then pull around to come to see us and shop. Don't forget to ask for your Donation Coupon.

🚑 Medical Monday: Why Do People Turn Blue?

It might sound like something you only see in movies, but when someone’s lips, fingertips, or skin start turning blue or gray, it’s your body’s way of saying:

🚨 “I’m not getting enough oxygen.”

This is called cyanosis (pronounced sigh-uh-NO-sis).

It happens when there isn’t enough oxygen in the blood reaching the body’s tissues. That can happen for many reasons, including:

🫁 Severe asthma attacks
❤️ Heart problems or cardiac arrest
😮‍💨 Choking or airway blockage
🩸 Serious lung conditions like pneumonia or a pulmonary embolism
💨 Drug overdoses that slow or stop breathing

What should you look for?
🔹 Blue or gray lips
🔹 Blue fingertips or nail beds
🔹 Difficulty breathing
🔹 Confusion or unusual drowsiness
🔹 Someone who isn’t responding normally

⚠️ Don’t wait for someone to “turn blue” before calling 911. Blue skin or lips is often a late sign that the body has been struggling to get oxygen. If someone is having severe trouble breathing, is becoming confused, or is difficult to wake up, call 911 immediately—even if they still look “normal.”

🚑 At Jackson County EMS, our crews can provide oxygen, open and protect airways, administer medications, and perform advanced life-saving interventions on the way to the hospital.

Knowing what to look for could help save a life.
