Busy competition season is here! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ†

When the schedule gets packed, itโ€™s easy to let maintenance fall to the bottom of the list. But when youโ€™re chasing goals in the arena, every .001 of a second matters.

Regular therapy appointments can help keep your horse feeling and performing their best throughout the season. Donโ€™t wait until thereโ€™s a problem..staying ahead of soreness, muscle fatigue, and compensation patterns is often the key to keeping your horse comfortable and competition-ready.

Whether youโ€™re hauling every weekend or gearing up for a big event, now is the time to get your sessions on the books.

๐Ÿ“… Schedule your Acuscope/Myopulse appointment today and keep your horse on track all season long.

Maintenance is always cheaper than downtime. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿด

๐Ÿ“ข Acuscope/Myopulse Pricing Update ๐Ÿ“ข

Effective today, Acuscope/Myopulse sessions will be $90 per session. This does not include travels fees if you have one.

Even with this small increase, I remain committed to keeping my services at an affordable maintenance price so horses can continue to benefit from regular treatments without breaking the bank.

Haul-in appointments will continue to be honored at $70 per session.

This adjustment helps support travel, equipment maintenance, continuing education, and the quality care I strive to provide for every horse.

Thank you to all of my clients for your continued support and trust. I truly appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to helping your horses feel and perform their best. โค๏ธ

THE SYMPTOM IS IN THE FOOT. THE CAUSE IS OFTEN SOMEWHERE ELSE.

A horse becomes footsore.

The natural assumption is that the problem must be in the foot.

Sometimes that's exactly what's happened.

An abscess is in the foot.

A puncture wound is in the foot.

A crack is in the foot.

The problem and the symptom occupy the same place.

But not always.

A horse lands toe-first.

What you see is in the foot.

The cause may be hock arthritis.

A horse starts wearing one foot faster than the others.

The symptom is in the foot.

The cause may be a change in how the horse is loading its limbs.

A horse repeatedly loses a shoe from the same foot.

The symptom is in the foot.

The cause may be a movement pattern that has changed because the horse is uncomfortable elsewhere.

A horse develops bruising in the same area over and over again.

The symptom is in the foot.

The cause may be altered movement from joint disease higher up.

A horse develops contracted heels.

The symptom is in the foot.

The cause may be persistent avoidance of loading part of the limb because something else hurts.

A horse grows noticeably uneven feet.

The symptom is in the feet.

The cause may be asymmetry elsewhere in the body changing how those feet are loaded.

A horse struggles on hard ground.

The pain shows in the feet.

The cause may be endocrine disease affecting the lamellae.

A horse develops laminitis.

The pain is in the feet.

The damage is in the feet.

Yet the process often begins with insulin dysregulation or other hormonal disturbance long before the foot shows it.

A horse develops recurrent abscesses.

The symptom is in the foot.

The cause may be chronic lamellar damage that has been present for months or years.

A horse struggles to turn.

The symptom may look like foot pain.

The cause may be the hocks.

Or the stifles.

Or somewhere else entirely.

A horse doesn't want to go forward.

The feet may be blamed.

The cause could be orthopaedic pain.

It could be gastric disease.

It could be respiratory disease.

It could be something else altogether.

The point is not that the feet are unimportant.

Quite the opposite.

The feet are often the first place the horse reveals that something is wrong.

But they are not always telling us where the problem started.

One of the most valuable habits in equine healthcare is learning not to stop at the first thing you can see.

The foot matters.

But it is attached to a whole horse.

And sometimes the foot is not the problem.

It's the messenger.

One thing I really like about what I do is incorporating a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach alongside Acuscope & Myopulse sessions.
Instead of only looking at where a horse is showing symptoms, TCM encourages looking at the horse as a whole & how everything is connected and working together. I use that mindset while also using biofeedback to help guide each session.

I work with performance horses, rehab cases, and maintenance horses, and tailor each session to the individual horse in front of me.

I offer both travel appointments and discounted haul-in options. If youโ€™re curious about my approach or want to know more about Acuscope & Myopulse, feel free to check out my page or message me anytime.

How Often Should I Treat My Horse?
How Often Do You Treat Yours?

Hereโ€™s the honest answer: it depends on your horseโ€™s lifestyle, workload, what their body is telling us and your budgetโ€ฆ

But hereโ€™s a solid general guideline for Acuscope/Myopulse sessions:

๐Ÿ”น Highly Competitive-Performance Horses
๐Ÿ“† 1x per week or every 2 weeks
Why? These horses are athletes. Regular sessions help keep inflammation down, movement fluid, and recovery on point.
My rodeo horses get their sessions the day before their run and usually the day after. If we have nothing on the schedule they get done once a week regardless.

๐Ÿ”น Horses in Rehab or Coming Back from Injury
๐Ÿ“† 2โ€“3x per week in the beginning, tapering as they improve
Why? Acuscope helps accelerate tissue healing and restore homeostasis. More frequent sessions = faster, more complete recovery.
The body begins to learn to heal itself the correct way therefore we begin to start spreading sessions apart slowly.

๐Ÿ”น Maintenance
๐Ÿ“† minimum 1x per month or as needed
Why? Even trail horses or light work can carry tension or develop imbalances. Monthly sessions help catch small issues before they become big ones.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Bottom line: the schedule should fit your horseโ€™s needsโ€”not a one-size-fits-all plan.
Will 1x monthly Benefit my horse? Absolutely- but you get out of your horse what you put in ๐Ÿ˜‰
๐ŸŒŸConsistency makes the biggest difference

Every case teaches you to pay attention to the small details. With degenerative suspensory ligament desmitis(DSLD), the goal is never a โ€œfix.โ€
Itโ€™s support, comfort, and helping the horse function as comfortably and efficiently as possible for where they are in their journey.

Through consistent supportive therapy sessions, I focus on helping reduce compensatory patterns, supporting circulation, and encouraging overall body comfort. What I look for most isnโ€™t dramatic change, itโ€™s subtle shifts:
โ€ข how theyโ€™re loading their feet
โ€ข how theyโ€™re carrying themselves through the body
โ€ข willingness to move and stay comfortable

This mare is a reminder that even in chronic conditions, consistent supportive care matters.
DSLD may be progressive, but thoughtful maintenance can make a real difference.

Every week, one step closer!
This mare is on a consistent focused treatment program, to plan on getting her strong, comfortable, and confident for her return to the barrel pen. Progress takes consistency, patience, and listening to the horse every step of the way โœจ
