The Mending Post is excited to begin welcoming new clients for Equine Assisted Services starting in July!

Equine-assisted services provide a unique opportunity to build confidence, improve communication, strengthen emotional awareness, develop healthy coping skills, and foster meaningful connections, all through interactions with our incredible horses. Sometimes the greatest lessons come from a horse simply meeting you where you are, without judgment and with plenty of heart.

Speaking of connections, we recently gained a new "assistant facilitator" (she's a little short on credentials but makes up for it with enthusiasm 😄). In no time at all, she formed a special bond with Rimson and Zeke, proving once again that horses have an amazing ability to connect with people and make them feel seen, valued, and accepted.

While we can't guarantee your horse partner will share their snacks, we can promise an experience that is rewarding, memorable, and often life-changing.

If you've been curious about how horses can help build confidence, resilience, and personal growth, now is the perfect time to learn more!

📩 Message us today to reserve your spot or get additional information. We can't wait to meet you!

Thank you to everyone who helped get the herd loaded, transported safely and moved into their new pasture. Everyone is happy and Rimson even had coffee with me. We're excited and accepting new clients to begin services July 1st!

Caught the sunrise this morning during a 4-mile run, and it was exactly what my soul needed.

There’s something special about being up before everyone else. The world is quiet, the air is cool, the breeze wakes you up better than coffee ever could, and for a little while, the only thing on your to-do list is putting one foot in front of the other.

As we get closer to moving the horses to their new home, I'll admit the stress is starting to creep in. There are a million details to think about, plans to make, and horses who will undoubtedly have opinions about every single one of them. Because if there's one thing horses excel at, it's keeping us humble and reminding us that our carefully crafted plans are merely suggestions. 😂

That's one of the reasons equine-assisted services are so powerful. Horses have a way of bringing us back to the present moment. They don't care about tomorrow's checklist or next week's worries. They ask us to slow down, breathe, pay attention, and focus on what's right in front of us.

This morning's run felt a lot like time spent with the horses, peaceful, grounding, and a reminder that even during seasons of change, it's important to make space for ourselves.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have horses to move, fences to check, and approximately 47 things to overthink before breakfast. 🤠🐎

Rimson and Buddie are so excited about our upcoming move, they decided to play like a couple of kids on recess, when we were talking about their new adventures. 😂

From the looks of it, they're pretty excited about our new adventure. Whether it's the promise of new pastures, new activities, or simply the possibility of finding new places to cause mischief, these boys are ready to go!

Their official statement seems to be: "More room to play? Approved. More adventures? Approved. More treats? We assume so, therefore approved." 🐴✔️

We're incredibly excited about this next chapter and can't wait to see what the future holds for The Mending Post. If the boys' reaction is any indication, we're in for something pretty amazing!

Stay tuned, big things are coming, including more zoomies. 💙

📣 Big News from The Mending Post! 📣

After several pasture meetings, countless hay-powered planning sessions, and a thorough review by our equine board members, we're excited to announce that The Mending Post is relocating to the Chino Valley area! 🎉🐴

An incredible opportunity was presented to us, and sometimes when life opens a gate, you grab the lead rope and walk through it. We are beyond excited for this next chapter and can't wait to see what the future has in store for our horses, clients, and community.

Rain and Pancho have assured us that they've carefully considered the move and fully support the decision... although we're pretty sure their approval was contingent upon continued access to snacks. 🐴🌾😂

We are so grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way, and we're looking forward to continuing our mission in our new home. More details and exciting updates will be coming soon!

Please help us spread the word by sharing our exciting news. We can't wait to welcome both familiar and new faces as we begin this next adventure.

Important board meeting at The Mending Post last night with the boys… 🐴🌾

Buddie and Rimson insisted all future planning discussions happen over dinner because apparently “big dreams require full bellies.” Honestly, they may be onto something. 🤷‍♀️😂

As I sat and pondered some exciting upcoming plans, the boys reminded me of one of the biggest lessons equine assisted services teaches: communication is key. Horses may not use words, but they sure know how to tell us what’s working, what’s not, and when it’s time to slow down and listen.

Big things are coming to The Mending Post, and I couldn't be more excited for what’s ahead. Until then, Buddie and Rimson will continue supervising operations…one bite at a time. 🐎✨

We hope everyone has a great day!

School’s almost out, and apparently Lefty is already in full “summer mode.” ☀️🐴

No homework. No stress. Just good vibes, deep breaths, and wondering when the next snack is coming. 😅

At The Mending Post, we know summer can be more than just a break from school, it can be a season of growth, confidence, connection, and healing. Equine-assisted services create powerful opportunities for children, teens, and families to build emotional regulation, social skills, confidence, and meaningful relationships… all with the help of some pretty incredible horses. 💛

And trust us, horses like Lefty have a way of helping people feel seen, calm, and capable without saying a single word.

🌻 Summer activities and session registration will be opening soon, and we can’t wait to spend another season learning, growing, laughing, and making memories together.

Stay tuned…Lefty says you don’t want to miss it.

Well…this evening at The Mending Post we had a little surprise rodeo 🤦‍♀️

I showed up to feed and quickly realized the bulls, Bucky and Big Horn, had decided they were done with fences for the day. Meanwhile, they're giving me the most perfect “uh oh… mom caught us” look 😂.

In their adventure, they managed to knock over hay bales and dump the horses’ water trough, because why not go all out, right?

Could I have gotten upset? Absolutely.
Angry? Yep.
Thrown my hands up and called it a day? Tempting.

But I didn’t.

Instead, I took a deep breath, looked at what I had to work with, and made a plan. I snuck into their pen, opened the gate, and put on my rodeo clown hat 🤠

One bull at a time, some pressure, a little running and cutting, and my best “mom voice”, and I got everyone back where they belonged.

Then it was time to haul water, pound T-posts, fix fence, and restack hay. Not exactly glamorous…but in the middle of all that, I got to watch the sunset and spend a little time with Buddie and Rimson, and honestly, it filled my soul in a way that’s hard to explain.

I was out there laughing and running around looking like a crazy lady…but I enjoyed it.

And that’s the thing about equine-assisted services…

The horses (and apparently the bulls too 😅) don’t let us avoid frustration. They give us real-life, in-the-moment opportunities to practice patience, regulate our emotions, and choose how we respond instead of reacting.

Today wasn’t about things going perfectly, it was about staying grounded when they didn’t.

That’s where the real work happens.
That’s where growth happens.

And sometimes… it even comes with a sunset and a pretty great story.

If you’re interested in equine-assisted services, we’d love to have you come out. Just know, some days you might get peaceful moments with horses…and some days you might get an unexpected cardio workout 😅

Either way, you’ll leave with a full heart, a clearer mind, and probably a good story to tell.

Millie said, “Let me handle your content mom…” 😏🐴

While I was picking her feet, this sly little mare pulled my phone out of my back pocket, dropped it…and THEN somehow managed to snap a selfie from underneath.

We talk a lot about awareness, connection, and being present in equine assisted services, and Millie clearly understood the assignment better than I did in that moment. Horses are incredibly intuitive and curious. They notice everything…even the things we think are tucked safely away (apparently, back pockets aren’t safe 😂).

Sometimes, growth happens in the most unexpected (and hilarious) ways. Today’s lesson? Stay present, stay grounded…and maybe double-check your pockets around clever mares like Millie.

At The Mending Post, even the horses have a way of reminding us to slow down, be mindful, and embrace the moment, selfies and all 💛

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
