We all need people who can tell us the truth with care.
In the story of David, Nathan spoke up when David needed to face what he had done. A “Nathan” in your life might be a trusted friend, a counselor, a family member, or someone else whose wisdom you’ve learned to respect.
You don’t have to accept every criticism. But when a comment makes you defensive, it may be worth pausing to ask what you can learn from it.

Prayer can begin with the truth: “I’m hurt. I’m angry. I don’t know what to do with this.”
Naming those feelings doesn’t make you a bad person. It gives you a place to begin. And you don’t have to work through deep hurt alone—talking with someone safe or seeking counseling can be part of caring for yourself.
