NH Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency

NH Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency NHDFMR combines excellent clinical training with an innovative personal development and leadership curriculum that prepares you to serve and lead.

Located in Concord, the capital of the Granite State, we are the only ACGME-approved family medicine program in the state. Our sponsoring institution is Concord Hospital, a regional medical center that serves a primary catchment area of 145,00 residents. Residents can elect to serve patients in two different clinic settings. The Family Health Center in Concord is the educational home to 18 of our

residents while 6 residents practice in Hillsboro, a more rural option. We also offer an exciting opportunity to combine traditional family medicine training with Dartmouth Hitchcock's Leadership Preventive Medicine Residency.

Continuing our Intern Spotlight series, meet Mathew Allard, DO ✨

🏡 Hometown: Auburn, NH

🎓 Medical School: NSU KPCOM – Tampa

🏥 Why FM/NHDFMR: I came to family medicine for the range - one day a sports physical and joint exam, the next a newborn check. My family’s here in southern NH, and I love the pace - a more relaxed population and real room to grow, both in the clinic and outside it.

🩺 Areas of Interest: MSK/Sports Medicine & as much Pediatrics as possible

☕ Favorite Drink: Whole milk cappuccino or a large black medium roast/dark roast coffee

🍽️ Favorite Food: Steak & cheese with mayo from Violet Stone in St. Pete OR filet mignon

🐎 Fun Facts: Swimming, exercising, my family had horses growing up, and I bought a house this year with a yard and room for my golden retriever, Kona 🐶

🎶 Favorite Song: Dance Monkey

Currently holding down the fort on night float, we’re so glad you’re part of the NHDFMR family, Mat! 🩵

Next up in our Intern Spotlight Series: Rish*ta Bandaru, DO 🤩

🏡 Hometown: Danbury, CT

🎓 Medical School: UNECOM

🏥🫀 Why FM/NHDFMR: I love having the opportunity to explore all of my interests like OB, preventative medicine, and to continue practicing OMT in my daily clinic.

☕️🧋Favorite Drink: I love lattes, whole milk please! Sometimes with caramel of course.

🍰 💃🏽Fun Facts: I love to bake, I recently started baking birthday cakes for my loved ones! I tend to listen to a lot of lo-fi and jazz while I work, but will sing my heart out to pop music and R&B, usually on road trips.

Our resident baking queen! 👑🎂 We’re so excited to have you with us, Rish*ta! 💜

Meet the newest members of the NHDFMR family as we introduce our new PGY1 class! ✨🎉

First up: Jessica Peredna, DO 👋

🏡 Hometown: Derry, NH
🎓Medical School: NYITCOM

🏥 Why FM/NHDFMR: I love seeing patients from the beginning to the end of life. NHDFMR gave me the chance to practice in the community that raised me while staying close to my loved ones.
🩺 Career Goals: My ultimate goal is to stay in New Hampshire and practice family medicine after residency, with a possible focus on geriatric medicine.
☕️ Favourite Drink: I’m a big fan of milk, so I normally go for a caramel or maple latte!

📚🎧 Fun Facts: I love to read (big Throne of Glass fan), watch New Girl, and spend time with my family. Right now, I’m loving Noah Kahan’s new album!

We’re so excited to have you with us, Jess! We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish along the way! 💙

Members of our resident, faculty and administrative team made another annual visit to the AAFP FUTURE 2026 Conference in Kansas City. We took the opportunity to engage with medical students who are eager to explore FM residency opportunities from across the country by sharing aspects of our program that may align with their goals. We also exchanged meaningful notes with other programs to learn from each other, and attended workshops relevant to family medicine. 🩺 🏙️

Congratulations to our very own program director, Dr. Dominic Geffken, on being honored as the Family Physician of the Year at the 2026 NHAFP annual conference!

A servant leader, mentor, advocate, and physician, Dr. Geffken has shaped generations of residents and transformed care for communities across New Hampshire through compassion, humility, and action. From being lifted up by our current PGY3s, to accepting this well-deserved award, to celebrating alongside residents past and present, this photo series captures just a small glimpse of the impact he has had on so many of us.

We are incredibly grateful to learn from and work alongside him every day. Congrats, Dr. Geffken, this award is so well deserved. 💚
