When a patient was struggling through some of his hardest days, his nurse, Pam was always there with a kind word and encouragement to keep going. 💚

Pam remembered him from previous hospital stays and made a point of checking in whenever she worked. When the patient was finding it difficult to take the next step, Pam encouraged him to attend a support group. There, he met someone who became an important source of support in his recovery.

The patient's parent shared this story in Pam's DAISY Award nomination, grateful for the nurse who worked tirelessly to bring hope back to their son.

Today, we are celebrating the incredible medical assistants who are such an important part of our team and the wonderful care they provide our patients. 🩺

If you’ve ever been a patient at Concord OBGYN, chances are a medical assistant has been part of your story. They’re often the first friendly face you see, the person who takes your vitals, listens to your concerns, helps prepare you for your visit, answers questions, coordinates care, and makes sure the little details don’t get missed. They keep our days moving, support our providers, and help our patients feel heard, comfortable, and cared for. Often times, during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

What makes our medical assistants truly special goes far beyond their clinical skills. It’s the kindness they show, the reassurance they offer, the extra time they take to listen, and the compassion they bring to even the busiest days. So much of what they do happens behind the scenes, but the difference they make is felt every single day. 💕

From our tiniest newborns to patients over 100, Emerson’s pharmacy team helps care for people at every stage of life. 💙

Our pharmacists work around the clock in the hospital, reviewing medication orders, answering questions from nurses and providers, and helping guide treatment. Their care also reaches beyond the hospital, from managing blood-thinning medications in our anticoagulation clinic to carefully reviewing cancer treatments at our NAKA infusion clinic.

Our pharmacy technicians put in miles—literally! They walk miles each day delivering and restocking medications throughout the hospital. They also carefully prepare IV medications, chemotherapy and other treatments for our inpatient and outpatient teams.

And when a medication is hard to find, our pharmacy buyers get to work, navigating shortages and tracking down medications to help keep patients’ care on track.

This Pharmacy Week, we are celebrating the knowledge, teamwork and dedication behind all of it. To our entire pharmacy team: thank you for looking out for our patients and supporting the people who care for them, every day! 👏

Last weekend, families, friends, and members of our Emerson team came together for the third annual Angel Dash to honor babies gone too soon and support families affected by pregnancy and infant loss through Rachel's Gift.

Before her shift even began, Stephanie was already thinking about her patient. 💛

She stopped at the store to buy a brush, shampoo and body wash, then helped the patient shower once she arrived at work. The patient was moved to tears and left glowing—a moment that stayed with Stephanie’s colleague, too.

“It made me proud to work with such an amazing patient care tech,” her colleague shared.

Picking pumpkins feels even better when it helps care for kids. 🎃

Verrill Farm’s 20th annual Harvest Festival brought families together for games, live music, pumpkin picking and visits with some very adorable farm animals—all while supporting pediatric care at Emerson Health.

Thank you to the Verrill Farm team for making this beloved tradition possible year after year, and to everyone who joined the fun! Every ticket and pumpkin purchased during the festival helped support programming for our youngest patients.
