Ground transport memberships for South Gilliam County Ambulance Service are now being offered through Life Flight Network. The benefit of a membership is that any cost above what your insurance covers is paid through your membership fees. This is the same service you were offered through Tri-County Ambulance Service in years past. You will receive the same benefit as previously, only now your payments will be going to Life Flight Network for administration purposes. A portion of these membership fees come back to your local ambulance service.
If you had a membership before, you should have either received or will be receiving a letter through the mail for your renewal. This is now called Fire Med and has the same coverage area in Oregon as in the past.
If you would like to buy a Fire Med membership for ground transport, there are brochures available at the ambulance office in the fire station in Condon, at South Gilliam County Health Center or the Gilliam County Sheriff’s Office. The brochures contain a map of the service area plus a description of benefits and costs. Memberships can still be paid by mailing a check but credit card payments are now an option as well as an automatic renewal option.
The ambulance office is not staffed on a daily basis but you can call (541) 384-5555 to leave a message and we can help you get a brochure.
