I don’t usually share stories like this, but I feel compelled to—because it’s a powerful reminder of why this company exists.
To give a bit of context to the photos posted: this moment came together because our team stepped in when another hospice provider wouldn't accept a patient’s spouse. The only thing this man wanted—his final wish—was to see his wife one last time.
From what I’ve heard, it wasn’t an easy situation. There were a lot of moving parts, multiple third-party providers to coordinate with, and time was short. But our admissions nurse and team made it happen. They got him home. And when he arrived, he and his wife were able to lock hands.
They never let go. Even at the time of his passing, their hands were still clasped together.
His final wish was honored. He passed in peace. And his family—who got to witness that quiet, powerful moment—was given something they’ll carry with them forever: a sense of peace, closure, and gratitude.
This story, like so many others, is why we do what we do. But what makes this one stand out for me personally is that I wasn’t involved in it at all. I didn’t meet the patient. I didn’t meet the family. I had no direct hand in making it happen—and that’s exactly why I’m sharing it.
Because this is what we’ve built. A team of people who lead with heart. Who care deeply. Who go above and beyond not for credit or recognition, but because it’s the right thing to do.
We’ve had the honor of serving so many families, and every experience is meaningful. But some, like this one, leave an especially vivid imprint. Not because they're more important—but because they're such a clear reflection of what we strive for: honoring wishes, creating peace, and making sure families are left with beautiful memories of their loved one’s final moments.
We’re not perfect—but we aim for it, every single time.
To our team: thank you. For the work you do. For the hearts you have. For living this mission every day. I couldn’t be more proud.
