October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

At Bliss, caring for women doesn’t stop after pregnancy and birth. It continues through every season of life.

This month is a reminder to know your body, keep up with your well woman care, schedule the appointment you’ve been putting off, and never ignore a change that doesn’t feel right.

Early detection matters. Your health matters. You matter.

All October long, we’ll be sharing reminders about breast health, screenings, and the importance of making time for yourself too.

Here’s to taking care of the women who spend so much of their lives taking care of everyone else. 💗

Last month, our incredible midwife McCall welcomed her second baby right here at Bliss 🤍

We met McCall not long after she graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice, and from the very first group prenatal session she joined us for, we knew she was special. She was brilliant, calm, kind, and so naturally made women feel safe and cared for. We remember thinking how lucky we would be if one day she became a Bliss midwife.

And somehow, all these years later, she isn’t just one of our midwives. She is family.

McCall has spent so much time pouring into Bliss moms, caring for them, encouraging them, and helping them bring their babies into the world. Last month, it was finally our turn to care for her.

Watching her so gracefully welcome her own Bliss baby into the world felt like such a beautiful full circle moment.

McCall, thank you for trusting us with something so precious. Thank you for the way you love and care for every family you serve. And thank you for letting us be part of your family’s story too.

We love you and your sweet babies so much 🤍

It’s National Birth Center Week 🤍✨

And there is something really special about getting to celebrate the place where so many families have trusted us with some of the biggest moments of their lives 🥹

We’re so proud to be the only CABC Accredited Birth Center in the Greater Houston area and one of only five in Texas!

But the part that means the most will always be the families who trust us to walk beside them through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and then keep coming back for well-woman care through the years!

We get to watch families grow, babies become big siblings, and women move through so many seasons of life with us 🫶

That is what makes Bliss feel so special 🤍

This baby girl already hit the jackpot 🤍

She has an incredible mama who brought her into the world with so much strength and had such a beautiful birth, and an FNP dad who spends his days caring for babies and families too 🥹

We feel extra lucky to have Zach as part of the Bliss family. He’s not only a Bliss dad, but he also joins us for group prenatal from time to time and is a provider so many of our families already know and trust.

You can find Zach Williams, FNP, at Rife Pediatrics and Family Care, where lots of our Bliss babies continue to be loved on and cared for as they grow 🤍

Happy Labor Day from Bliss 🤍

Around here, “labor day” has a whole different meaning 😅

To all the mamas who have labored in our rooms, walked our halls, swayed, soaked, laughed, cried, danced, roared and finally met their babies… we are forever grateful to be part of those days 🥹

And to our mamas currently waiting for their own Labor Day… maybe today’s the day 👀🤞

Birth doesn’t have to look one certain way 🤍✨

In the bed, in the tub, standing, squatting, on hands and knees… or right here on the floor 🥹

At Bliss, moms are free to move, change positions, follow their instincts and birth wherever feels best in the moment 🤍

Honestly, it’s pretty rare for our moms to give birth flat on their backs in bed.

Sometimes your body just knows exactly where it wants to be and we’re here to support you, keep you and baby safe, and let birth unfold 💕

We are so excited to celebrate our student, Ali Lundy, as she heads into her final semester of school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife! 🤍

Ali’s journey to midwifery is such a special one. After earning degrees in International Business and Marketing and an MBA, she found her true calling after experiencing the midwifery model of care during the out-of-hospital birth of her first baby.

Since then, Ali has become a Registered Nurse, an incredible Birth Assistant and here at Bliss, and now she is just one semester away from becoming a CNM. And did I mention she is a Bliss Mom? 🥹

If you’ve had the privilege of having Ali at your birth or during your care, you already know what a gift she is. She is calm, kind, incredibly smart, and has such a natural way of making women feel safe, supported, and capable.

Ali is exceptional, and she has been such a gift to our team, our families, and the entire Bliss community. We are so proud of her and cannot wait to watch her step into this next chapter. The world of midwifery is getting a really, really good one. 🤍

Bili Blanket Rentals is located right inside Bliss Birth Center with hospital grade phototherapy available 24/7

So when your provider says baby needs a little help with jaundice you may be able to skip the hospital admission and head home with a bili blanket instead 🙌

Baby gets the blue light
You get the baby snuggles
And hopefully you get to skip that hospital bill too 💛
