⚠️ Mosquito Safety Alert for Our Community ⚠️

The heartbreaking news out of Montgomery County regarding the West Nile virus is a strong reminder to protect ourselves and our families. West Nile is primarily spread by the Culex mosquito, and taking a few simple precautions can make a big difference.

🦟 Know the Culex Mosquito:
The Behavior: They are most aggressive from dusk to dawn, making evening hours the highest risk.
The Habitat: They lay their eggs in stagnant, often dirty standing water (like clogged gutters, birdbaths, old tires, or storm drains).
The Look: They are typically plain brown and lack the distinct stripes seen on other mosquito species.

🛡️ How to Protect Yourself:
Use Repellent Lotions: Apply EPA-registered lotions (containing DEET or Picaridin). Lotions provide a more even, longer-lasting protective barrier on your skin than quick sprays.
Dress Defensively: Wear loose, light-colored long sleeves and pants if you are outdoors during the evening.
Eliminate Standing Water: Walk your yard weekly and empty or scrub anything holding stagnant water to destroy their breeding grounds.

Let's look out for one another. Please share this to remind our friends and neighbors to stay safe! 🛑🦟

Fun Fact: Did you know the first stethoscope was actually just a rolled-up piece of paper? 📜 Invented in 1816, doctors soon upgraded to hollow wooden tubes like the one in this video. It wasn't until 1852 that the first two-ear stethoscopes hit the market! 🩺

Wish I had practiced in that era.

House calls used to be the norm! 🏡💼 In the 1930s, house calls made up 40% of all physician encounters. By the 1950s, this number began to drop as technology advanced and treatments required specialized clinic equipment.

Fun Fact: The iconic black medical bag weighed an average of 10 to 15 pounds when fully stocked!

Ofcourse it does.

Ofcourse it does.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized trials suggested that GLP-1s reduced binge eating symptoms and related behaviors — including loss-of-control eating and disinhibited eating — and emotional eating among participants living with overweight or obesity.

“Our findings suggest that GLP-1s may be a promising adjunctive pharmacotherapy for individuals living with binge eating symptoms and obesity,” the authors of the study wrote. https://mdsc.pe/4q7CFgu

Time traveling back to the 1890s with Dr. Kazmi! 🕰️ Notice anything missing?

Yep... no gloves! 🛑🧤 Before the turn of the century, surgeons operated completely bare-handed. Many doctors actually refused to wear gloves when they were first invented because they thought it would ruin their precision and sense of touch. 😱

Imagine going under the knife before surgical gloves were required!

🎉 CLINIC MILESTONE: 6 MONTHS STRONGER! 🩺

It’s hard to believe, but six months have already elapsed since we inaugurated our CLS Health Conroe Primary Care Clinic! 🕰️ To mark this occasion and celebrate our incredible staff we took a break from the Prior Authorizations and treated ourselves to a 'Wellness Event' on the bowling lanes 🎳

Building this practice alongside CLS Health has been a tremendous journey, and it wouldn't be possible without this team that pours their uttermost dedication and hard work to patient care.

A huge thank you to our community for trusting us with your health. Here's to many more milestones and happy, healthy years ahead!
