Yesterday we wore purple for JACLYN.
Jaclyn was a sixth grade student at one of our local middle schools who unexpectedly went into cardiac arrest and passed away at MUSC. Praying for her family during this time.

Everyone! WELCOME Nina to our Kid Care Team

Hi, I’m Nina! I’m a Medical Assistant with a background in pediatric healthcare and a genuine passion for working with children. As a mom, I understand how important it is for little ones to feel safe, supported, and cared for- especially when they aren't feeling their best. I love helping children feel comfort and ease at each visit. Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my family, being outdoors, exploring the beach, and enjoying the simple moments in life. I’m so excited to be part of the team and look forward to getting to know the families we serve!

Meet Our Newest Provider: Lindsay

Born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana—right in the heart of Purdue country—I spent 40 years in Indiana before making Myrtle Beach my home. I have been a Nurse Practitioner for 10 years, and caring for children has truly become one of the most rewarding parts of my career. When I’m not caring for patients, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends and enjoying anything that gets me outdoors in the sunshine. I’m grateful to be part of the Myrtle Beach community and look forward to caring for the children and families who call it home.

I M P O R T A N T *** N O T I C E

With small businesses sometimes comes big challenges. But with faith & prayer, it always works out.
One of our beloved providers is expanding her career outside of pediatrics. As many of y’all are aware, I am super picky with who treats the kiddos in our community under the Kid Care name. We strive to provide top-notch care with open-minded, highly educated and skilled providers & this is not easy to come by. Unfortunately, I can’t be in 2 places at once, 7 days per week.
For the month of August, our Conway location will be CLOSED for the training of our new teammates. We hope this will be resolved by Sept 1.
PLEASE have grace, patience & understanding with our team through this transition.

**Carolina Forest/Myrtle Beach location will remain open, normal business hours.

🏊‍♀️ Swimmer’s Ear Can Sneak Up Fast! 👂💦

Spending lots of time in the pool or ocean this summer? Swimmer’s ear is an infection of the outer ear canal caused by trapped moisture.

Watch for:
• Ear pain (especially when the ear is touched)
• Itching in the ear
• Redness or swelling
• Drainage from the ear
• Trouble hearing

Help prevent it by:
Drying ears well after swimming
Tilting the head to let water drain out
Avoiding cotton swabs inside the ear

If your child develops ear pain after swimming, we’re here to help! Walk in for an evaluation so they can get back to enjoying summer.

🏡💻 Quality Pediatric Care—Now Available From Home!

Life gets busy, and not every sick visit needs a trip to the office. We’re excited to offer Telehealth Visits for many pediatric concerns, so your child can be seen from the comfort of your home.

Telehealth may be appropriate for:
• Pink eye
• Rashes
• Allergies
• Medication refills
• Cold, cough, and congestion
• Mild stomach illnesses
• Follow-up visits
• And many other non-emergency concerns

Our providers will evaluate your child, answer your questions, and, when appropriate, send prescriptions directly to your preferred pharmacy.

If your child needs an in-person evaluation after the virtual visit, we’ll help guide you on the next steps to have them seen in clinic where test can be performed & a more thorough examination can be conducted.

Fast. Convenient. Compassionate pediatric care—wherever you are.

🎆🇺🇸 Fourth of July Safety Tips for Kids 🇺🇸🎆

Happy Independence Day from Kid Care Pediatric Urgent Care! We hope your family has a fun and safe holiday. Here are a few reminders to help keep everyone healthy:

🎇 Leave fireworks to the professionals. Sparklers can reach temperatures over 1,000°F and cause serious burns. Keep children away from all fireworks.

☀️ Stay hydrated. Encourage plenty of water, especially if your family is spending the day outside.

🧴 Use sunscreen. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen 15–30 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every 2 hours—or more often after swimming. (Brands like Badger or Blue Lizard are great choices!)

👶 Watch little ones around water. Never leave children unattended near pools, lakes, or the beach, even for a moment. Designate a “water watcher.”

🌭 Practice food safety. Keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot to reduce the risk of foodborne illness. Watch littles around the grill as well. Hot!

👂🏼 Protect sensitive ears. Fireworks can be frightening and loud for babies and young children. Consider hearing protection and keep pets indoors if possible.

❤️ If your child needs medical care for minor illnesses or injuries this holiday weekend, Kid Care Pediatric Urgent Care is here for your family.

Have a safe, healthy, and Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸🎉
