Contrary to popular belief, blurry vision doesn’t automatically mean you have astigmatism!

WHAT ASTIGMATISM IS:
✔️ A common vision condition caused by an irregularly shaped cornea or lens
✔️ Can make vision appear blurry or distorted at any distance
✔️ May cause eye strain, headaches, or difficulty driving at night

WHAT ASTIGMATISM IS NOT:
❌ Not an eye disease
❌ Not caused by too much screen time or reading in the dark
❌ Not something only older adults experience

A comprehensive eye exam is the best way to find out what’s affecting your vision and how to correct it. 👓

The short answer: no.

Once a cataract forms, it cannot be reversed with eye drops, medications, exercises, or supplements.

Common signs include:
• Blurry or cloudy vision
• Increased sensitivity to light
• Difficulty seeing at night
• Colors appearing faded or yellow

The good news? Cataracts are highly treatable, and early detection can help you protect your vision and plan the right treatment at the right time.

Reading glasses are designed to help with close-up tasks like reading and using your phone, while prescription glasses are customized to correct specific vision issues that can affect your ability to see clearly at various distances.

If you’ve noticed blurry vision, eye strain, or difficulty focusing, an eye exam can help determine what’s causing it and which type of glasses may be right for you.

👓 Clear vision starts with the right diagnosis.

If you’re getting headaches or migraines along with vision issues, here are a few things worth checking:

• Get a full eye exam — uncorrected vision (even mild astigmatism or farsightedness) can trigger headaches
• Watch your screen habits — long hours without breaks can strain your eyes and worsen pain
• Check lighting — glare, dim light, or harsh contrast can contribute to eye strain
• Note your symptoms — if headaches come with blurry vision or eye fatigue, track when it happens
• Don’t self-diagnose migraines right away — some “migraine-like” pain is actually vision-related strain

If you’ve been dealing with frequent headaches, schedule a comprehensive eye exam with Vaught Eye Associates to check for possible vision-related causes.

Squinting helps you temporarily “force” clearer vision, but it also means your eyes are working harder than they should.

A simple eye exam can quickly identify what’s causing it — and what actually helps.

Visit Vaught Eye Associates for a comprehensive eye check and clearer, more comfortable vision.

In many cases, it’s actually your eyes reacting to something else:

• Dry eyes — Your eyes overproduce tears because they aren’t staying properly lubricated.
• Allergies — Dust, pollen, or other triggers can irritate the eyes and cause excess tearing.
• Wind, smoke, or screens — These can dry or irritate the eye surface and disrupt normal tear balance.
• Blocked tear drainage — Tears don’t drain properly, so they spill over.
• Eye strain or inflammation — Tired or irritated eyes can respond by watering more than usual.

Watery eyes are common, but if it keeps happening, it’s worth getting checked to find the real cause.

Schedule an eye exam with Vaught Eye Associates so we can help identify what’s going on and keep your eyes comfortable.
