What You Need to Know
• COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for all people 12 years and older, including people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant now, or might become pregnant in the future.
• Evidence about the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy has been growing. These data suggest that the benefits of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine outweigh any known or potential risks of vaccination during pregnancy.
• There is currently no evidence that any vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines, cause fertility problems in women or men.
• Pregnant and recently pregnant people are more likely to get severely ill with COVID-19 compared with non-pregnant people.
• Getting a COVID-19 vaccine can protect you from severe illness from COVID-19

Dear patients, now that we have a FDA approved vaccine, and now that the Center for Disease Control and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine all recommend pregnant women get vaccinated, I strongly encourage all our patients older than age 12 and especially our pregnant patient to get vaccinated. Last year we did not see many pregnant patients with covid infection, but this year has been quite different. We have seen very sick pregnant mothers and some unexplainable bad and sad outcomes for the unborn babies.
Take control of your health and the health of your unborn baby by getting vaccinated.

Coastal Carolina OBGYN, LLC will officially change ownership to Conway Medical Center on October, 18, 2021.

It has been a privilege and honor to care for our community over the past 19 years as CCOBGYN and we will continue to provide excellent obstetrical and gynecological care under new leadership in our same location.

Patients are encouraged to stay with the practice. However, if you desire to transfer care, you may obtain a copy of your records via the patient portal or sign a record release.

Dear beloved Coastal Carolina OBGYN Community,

It is with both trepidation and excitement that I announce to you that the time has come for me to make a major change in my personal and professional life.

After 18 years of diligently providing excellent and compassionate care to the patients of Coastal Carolina OBGYN, and after much prayer and contemplation, I have decided to join with Conway Medical Center beginning January 1, 2022. We have always been affiliated with Conway Medical Center and have a good and strong relationship with its leadership. The medical center has grown leaps and bounds over the past years, especially in its obstetrical and gynecological department. Joining hands with them will make us stronger and thus more viable and relevant in the future. We plan to continue the loving and caring spirit of Coastal Carolina OBGYN under new leadership.

Our awesome midwife Sonya Harden and fabulous nurse practitioner Char Bunger will stay on staff. You will also encounter the same nursing and front office staff, who will all continue to provide superb care to all of you.

Dr. Harford, however, will be leaving Coastal Carolina OBGYN as of August 5, 2021. Please join me in wishing her the best in her future endeavors and in thanking her for the past three years of service to the community and to all of us.

Lastly, I have decided to retire as of 1/1/2022, to be still and see where and how God wants to use me next.

I believe in my heart, that the best is yet to come.

Thank you for your faithful patronage and trust, for your words of encouragement, gifts, and loving-kindness towards me. I will carry a little bit of each one of you with me as I move in this new direction.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in our area, only patients will be allowed in the building beginning Friday January 15, 2021.

This policy includes Office Visits, Procedures, Centering, and Ultrasounds, with the exception of 20 week Fetal Survey Ultrasounds.
Minors and patients with special needs will be an exception.

We ask that anyone with you remain in their vehicles or outside during your visit.
We are hopeful this will only last a short time.
