Another great class in the books. Those attending had excellent prior training in Lympdedema care, but commented they really appreciated "seeing how these three conditions affect/effect each other, and have a better understanding of each". We had wonderful discussions and were able to use our personal experiences as case studies.

That makes me so happy, as my goal with Edema, Lipedema, Lympedema: A Comparitive Analysis was just that; learn the difference and be able to identify it in your clients (regardless of their presenting diagnosis) so you can provide safe, appropriate care.

I will be scheduling this class again soon. It is 6 hours of CE credit. I know it is difficult to find a day of the week that is best for most, but I typically offer courses on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I intentionally made this course "portable", as long as I have a good internet connection. If you would like me to travel to your practice or school to provide this class, shoot me email at; [email protected]. I also have an abbreviated 60 minute version for medical inservice.

Hey Guys! I still have an opening for 2 more people in my May 15th, "Edema, Lipedema, Lymphedema" CE class being held in Conway at Oasis Massage Therapy, 3200 Tyler Street, Suite B. Approved by ARDOH for 6 hours credit, the cost is $125. Lunch and snacks are included in the fee.

Some of you have asked "Why just a lecture and no hands-on work". Prior to becoming a massage therapist I worked in plastic and reconstructive surgery. The practice was primarily medical reconstructive vs elective/cosmetic. It was during those ten years I learned first hand about each of these conditions. Since becoming an LMT I have become very aware of the confusion surrounding these conditions, in the massage industry and even in medical practices. Clients are often referred for "lymphedema" only to learn it is edema, and vice versa. Each requires a different approach. Lipedema can often include elements of both edema and lymphedema. This is one of the areas where without proper knowledge we can cause harm to our clients.

This is a foundational course with a goal of presenting clear and concise information for each so you can more forward safely and in the best interest of your client. I specialize in oncology care and as an S4OM Preferred Provider, knowing the difference and the "recipe" for each is a vital part of my daily practice.

So, that is why this is a foundational course. Regardless of whichever modality is your calling, who will have clients with one or all of these conditions find their way to your tables.

Hello! I have space for 3-4 more people in this class scheduled for Friday, May 15th in Conway. The hours are 9:00 - 4:00 for 6 CE credits. The cost is $125 and includes lunch and snacks.

This is not a hands-on class but a lecture combining handouts, workbook, videos and on this date, a lipedema client will be here to answer questions and allow you first-hand observation of the condition. The goal of the course is to help LMTs understand the 3 often misdiagnosed, therefore mistreated, conditions, so you can move forward safely in your practice. Information regarding specialized training for each condition will be provided.

Hey there, hi there, ho there! It is a gorgeous day and I am at the office taking care of business. The April 19th, "Compress, Reset, Restore" class is fully booked.

I can take 3 or 4 more for the "Edema, Lipedema, Lymphedema" class for Friday, May 19th, 9:00 - 4:00. This is a 6 hour CE course and is lecture only with no "hands-on" work. The cost is $125. It is a deep drive into each condition covering; what they are, how they are alike and different, contraindications, and the suggested levels of additional coursework recommended to be prepared for offering care for each condition. As always, it will include a variety of presentations from lecture, videos, workbooks and when available, a visit from one of my clients that has the covered condition. I always throw in some fun "take aways".

I will be posting my June, July and August dates most likely next week. Many of you have reached out about my classes and that makes me so happy. Thank you! The most common questions regard the day of the week and time of day that classes are offered. I am trying to offer my courses at least twice with a weekend and a weekday option. I try my best to offer budget friendly courses that cover topics and techniques you can put to work right away. Needing 6 ARDOH CE units quick? If 4 or 6 people book, I am willing to offer this class, this Sunday, February 15th. Towards a Common Language introduces the Walton Pressure scale to bodyworkers looking for a more precise language to describe pressure other than "light, medium and deep" which are subjective. The Walton Scale was created by Tracy Walton and Gayle MacDonald, both powerhouses in the Oncology and Breast Cancer massage care world. The WPS has rapidly become the "language" used by bodyworkers around the country and when conducting research that supports our profession.

This class is LOTS of table time, and some lecture. I provide tables, stools, linens, etc. Snacks and beverages are provided.

Compression techniques are often reserved to sports massage and on-site events. This course covers the neuroscience of compression massage, how it "flips" the switch. You will both receive and administer, learning proper technique, body mechanics and how to protect your hands and wrists. You will leave with a plan for; 15 Minute "Quick Reset" for the clothed client, 60 minute "Compress, Reset, Restore" full body session for the clothed client, and how to add these techniques to your current "flow" for the disrobed/draped client.

This is not a hands-on class nor does it teach techniques. This class is a course that will help LMTs have a clear understanding of each condition; how they are both alike and very different, the causes and effects, contraindications and how these conditions play a role in everything we do. Afterwards, those attending should be able to discern if they would like to pursue appropriate training, or seek sources near their practice to develop a referral relationship. While this class may seem "heavy" I great effort to make it interesting using videos, hand-outs, worksheets and role playing to keep it moving.

Welcome! This is my new page for "Kindle - Continuing Education for Bodyworkers". This is where I will post my schedule for the year and where you can contact me. As I move into this new phase of my practice, I am excited to begin sharing more of my skills and experiences, as well as those of others that share my love for this profession.

The vast majority of the classes offered are approved by the Arkansas Department of Health, MTTAC, and/or NCBTMB. On occasion courses will be offered for personal care and might include movement classes, art therapy, and dietary plans to sustain us through our working days. These classes may or may not be approved for CEs, but will be fun and beneficial to the practicing LMT or bodyworker.
