Before you expect someone to love you properly, you have to start healing the parts of yourself that keep turning love into pain, fear, insecurity, or chaos.
Unhealed trauma will have you questioning genuine intentions, pushing away good people, overreacting to small things, or depending on others to fix wounds they didn’t create. That’s not love — that’s survival mode.
Healing yourself doesn’t mean becoming perfect. It means learning accountability, emotional control, self-worth, and understanding that another person cannot carry the weight of your unresolved pain alone.
The healthiest relationships happen when two people choose each other, not when one person is trying to save the other. Heal so you can recognize real love, receive it, and give it without bleeding on people who didn’t cut you.
