Mom listened to her maternal instincts and felt that baby wasn’t moving as well when she woke up that morning . As soon as she arrived it was immediately apparent that her baby wasn’t doing well and we had to do an emergency C section and everything went very well. Just absolutely love it when Gods grace shines upon my patients and myself.

To see you today with your three beautiful children is one of the greatest rewards of my career. It is a profound reminder that I truly have the absolute best job in the world.
Our journey together hasn’t been easy , having to navigate the painful struggles of miscarriages. Yet, through every loss and every challenge, I watched you display an unbelievable, fierce strength. Your resolve to keep pursuing the joy of motherhood was nothing short of miraculous.
Having adopted my two boys, and seeing your heart open immediately to adoption just weeks later after you just had a baby , I was in awe of your capacity to love. And then most recently, to witness you go through a completely natural, unmedicated labor was one of the most inspiring moments for me to witness. Trust me when I say—having done this for a very long time—you absolutely rocked it. You showed me, in its purest form, the breathtaking power and resilience of women.
Thank you for allowing me to walk this path with you, and for reminding me why this work is so sacred.

Ladies and gentlemen… I present The Arrival of Ivy and Iris!!
These twin girls are absolutely precious. Mom Callan Brooke Lamoreaux was incredibly motivated to deliver naturally and vaginally, just as she has in the past. However, these twins had a different game plan entirely.
Ivy (the first twin) cooperated fully, delivering vaginally after just a few pushes with fantastic Apgar scores. Then we came to stubborn Iris. She decided she wanted to come out butt first. The plan was to perform an internal podalic version—a breech extraction that was standard during the "good ole days" but isn't seen quite as often anymore.
The key to this is for me to grab both feet and gently "bribe" the baby with lots of hugs and kisses from mommy and daddy to come out feet first. I tried for nine minutes, but Iris was being a bit snobby and kept turning her back away from me. A transverse lie, back-down position is a major "no-go" for vaginal births.
We made the call to convert to a C-section, and even then, she tried to play hide-and-seek. Once delivered, she even tried to hold her breath for a moment! Sorry, Mom and Dad—I think we’ve identified the dramatic one of the pair.
In all honesty, joking aside, we were overly prepared for every scenario. We had an outstanding crew of nurses and surgical staff to ensure the best care and the best birthing experience possible. We remained aware of all the different possible scenarios and ready to act on a moments notice. ultimately, the only outcome that matters is a healthy mom and a healthy set of twins. Welcome to the world, Ivy and Iris!

"Twenty-five years. Six deliveries. Countless stories. This patient and I share a history that goes beyond the standard doctor-patient relationship—it's been an incredible adventure.

We’ve shared some of the most dramatic and unforgettable moments, like racing to a delivery in Livingston (and getting caught speeding!), or her infamously signing herself out of CRMC in active labor just to make it to my birthing center riding around in my small 2 seater car. I’ll never forget the small towel she laughed at me for bringing to cover my seats in my desperate attempt to avoid a ‘blood bath’ in my car as I zigzagged through the streets of Cookeville. We then took a hilarious selfie in the birthing tub when she was 9 cm with my snorkel just before i dove in the water to find her baby lol.
Ive always felt that she is so calm when she delivers her baby that she has got to be a professional— almost as if she does this for a living lol . We also have faced a serious life-threatening challenge of a severe COVID infection during her last pregnancy and despite her adamant desires to go home and refusal to be admitted to the hospital, she finally listened to me that “its time” to deliver her baby or she might never live to see her beautiful children again.
Through all of these years, our bond has become stronger than ever. And I am just happy to watch by the sidelines and see how her family and life has blossomed to where it is now!! And may God bless her husband because she is a handful !!
