I was THAT mom.. Although I NEVER ever would admit it in the past.

My ex mother in law had a nick name for me.. "ME-ME" because I was self centered and all I cared about was ME! MY next fix, money for MY next appointment at the local pill mill, ME MYSELF AND I.. I had to have a bag to wake up, a fewpills to go to work and a shot to be "not dope sick" in order to parent my own kid. My drug habit became more important than the air I breathed!

Due to my humility, honesty and open mindedness today.. I can admit she was 💯 correct! Just because I was there for my son.. Doesn't mean I was REALLY there. Let me say that again.. 📣 I was there.. Yet SO far away!!
I'm so grateful to be PRESENT in my son's life today. Recovery has given me my life back. And has shown me a new way. I can honestly say today, that it's SO much more than just staying abstinent!! It's about fixing the wreckage, healing and helping others.
Surrender.. It's the only way!!
