Jasna Sabic, CFNP, has joined Bassett Healthcare Network as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Emergency Medicine and serving in Emergency Department and Convenient Care locations across our network.

Jasna earned her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat stroke is an emergency. If someone near you appears to be experiencing heat stroke symptoms, call 911. Immediately get out of the sun and in a cool place.

For symptoms of heat exhaustion, focus on lowering body temperature.

💦Drink cool water or a sports drink.
🛏️Lie down.
🧥Remove unneeded clothing, like extra layers or shoes and socks.
🧊If possible, take a cool shower or use a cold compress.

Continue to monitor symptoms, since heat exhaustion can often lead to heat stroke. If the symptoms don't start to improve within 15 minutes to a half hour, seek medical attention.

The first month is now officially in the books at our newly opened Cooperstown-Area Convenient Care clinic! 🎉 To all of the patients who have walked in or made appointments, thank you for trusting us with your care. Please enjoy this look back at our ribbon cutting celebration, held just a few days before we opened.

The clinic is located at 4580 State Highway 28 in Milford. It is open and welcoming patients from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the weekend. We also have Convenient Care locations in Oneonta and Herkimer. To learn more, visit bassett.org/ConvenientCare.

Bassett Healthcare Network is excited to introduce fellowship trained pediatric urologist, Dr. Adam Howe!

Dr. Howe provides specialized urology care to children for a variety of issues affecting the kidneys, bladder, and urogenital tract including chronic bed wetting, blood in the urine, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), and anomalies and defects, among other conditions. He also performs in-office circumcisions.
