Now Hiring: Licensed Social Worker or Social Services Designee (Part-Time)

Some of the most meaningful moments in healthcare don't happen during a medical procedure, they happen through a conversation, a helping hand, or someone taking the time to listen.

Dakota Regional Medical Center and Griggs County Care Center are looking for a compassionate Licensed Social Worker or Social Services Designee to join our team 2 days per week, providing support to patients, residents, and families in both our Critical Access Hospital and Long-Term Care Facility.

In this role, you'll help individuals navigate life's challenges by providing emotional support, assisting with care planning and discharge planning, connecting families with community resources, and advocating for those we serve.

Who We're Looking For
Licensed Social Worker

• Current North Dakota LSW, LCSW, or LICSW licensure preferred, or
• Bachelor's degree in a human services field (such as sociology, gerontology, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, special education, or a related field) with at least one year of supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting.
OR
Social Services Designee
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A compassionate heart, strong communication skills, and an eagerness to learn.
• We'll provide the training needed to become a Social Services Designee.

Whether you're an experienced social worker or someone ready to begin a rewarding career serving others, we'd love to meet you.
Join a team that believes caring for people means caring for the whole person.

Today at Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown, ND - the young generation and the elder generation collided in a room anointed in song!
The summer Bible school kids blessed staff and residents alike with uplifting songs and fellowship!
Then we all ate ice cream together with 3 different toppings!
The energy was alive and youthful.
They waved "goodbye" as we clapped them away in huge gratefulness!
We begged that they come back one day.
Thank you to Pastor Josh, Mary Beth Lunde and all the helpers for walking them all over to spend these very precious moments with us! 🙌

Nothing says summertime like having a family picnic!
We used this opportunity at Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown, ND to hold our annual family council meeting too!
It's a time for a "state of the facility" type meeting where families can ask questions, bring forth joys or concerns. The GCCC Administrator, Nikki welcomed everyone and shared some exciting upcoming additions. We're all super excited about the new front patio that will be completed! Residents will have so much space to enjoy the seasons outside!
The residents enjoyed the picnic style supper, conversations with family members and most of all.. ice cream 🍦 for dessert!
Thank you so much to the families of their loved ones we get to partner in care with for always being such gracious supporters. And we need to thank every single staff member for making this night so special for everyone!
We will do it again next year with a new theme!

The Bingo Store sign read, "OPEN" today as residents were called forward by the Bingo Bucks banker to tell them each how much they had to spend.
The banker is very generous to insure everyone got to shop (even if) their Bingo buck wallets were empty!
Home decor and great smelling hygiene products sat among all the good stuff!
The Bingo Bucks banker is also the shopper! She secretly knows what each person will most likely buy. The whole staff does reconnaissance when we make the time for one to one, person-centered visits.
Donna Evers-for instance - loves black licorice. Guess what was stocked fresh in the Griggs County Care Center Bingo store?
Betty salivates over anything chocolate! There was plenty to choose from!
We even offer sugar-free and high protein snacks!
The Bingo Store closed just before lunch. We still had 10 minutes before lunch so we had the most hilarious discussion group to reminisce about how dark nursery rhymes can be. We spoke those nursery rhymes in unison as it hit us all at once what was really happening in the rhyme. 😱 That got us into an organic, unplanned, enthusiastic sing-a-long to all of the songs of our childhood like *Twinkle Twinkle Little Star* and >Baa Baa Black Sheep< and ~Ring around the Rosie.~
Then-to end all of the action- residents of faith gathered for prayer requests. The prayer was powerful! They must have heard us yell, *Amen! *all the way up in Canada!
One request was for rain in the state!
I'm here to testify ~our prayer was answered!
We're always praying for more donations to keep the Bingo store up and running.
It gives the residents such a feeling of independence when they can shop for themselves and get what they want instead of what is handed to them.
Their happy faces tell the story!
