From friendly competition to sweet treats and virtual travel, our days were filled with meaningful moments. Residents enjoyed a lively game of Sequence, shared memories while completing "Things My Parents Said" quotes and explored the sights and culture of Montreal during Travelogue. We even baked a classic sugar pie recipe inspired by our visit. While waiting for it to bake, residents stayed engaged with Montreal-themed coloring pages and word searches. It was a day full of laughter, learning, creativity, and fellowship. We are truly busy and blessed! 😊🍁πŸ₯§β€οΈ

Today's enriching activities began with two of our favorite musicians, Lowell and Fred! Their music had our residents tapping their feet, clapping along, and feeling the rhythm deep in their souls as they enjoyed many beloved tunes from years gone by.

This afternoon, we divided into teams for a fun-filled 70s-themed game of Pictionary. There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and opportunities to keep our minds active as we guessed words and memories from a groovy decade.

What a wonderful day of music, fellowship, fun, and friendship. Truly, showers of blessings indeed! πŸ’™πŸŽΆβœοΈ

Our week started with the blessing of worship and fellowship as Chaplain Jeff joined us yesterday for a meaningful time together. Monday afternoon Bingo was, as always, a resident favorite filled with fun, laughter, and friendly competition.

This morning, Deacon Tom led us in Catholic Communion, providing a time of reflection and faith. In the afternoon, we explored the art of stippling, the creative technique of making pictures through dots. While it may seem like "just making dots," it was amazing to watch each unique masterpiece come to life from such simple beginnings. We also enjoyed a lively game of "Match the Animal," which brought plenty of smiles and conversation.

As we look ahead to tomorrow, we are thankful for the comfort of familiar routines. Our Wednesday morning church service and afternoon Bingo continue to be cherished opportunities for worship, fellowship, and fun.

Wishing everyone a blessed week! πŸ’œπŸ™πŸŽ¨πŸŽ±

πŸ‚β˜€οΈ Our week has flown by and kept us moving and grooving! β˜€οΈπŸ‚

From Catholic Communion with Deacon Tom and uplifting church services to outdoor bowling, resident council, and our typical afternoons filled with friendly rounds of Bingo, this week has been packed with meaningful moments and fun activities.

We enjoyed a special music appreciation program featuring songs about sunshine through the ages and across many genres, gathered under the gazebo to share some good news from 2026, and explored our creative side while painting "Sunflowers at Sunset." We also shared plenty of smiles and laughter while listening to a delightful short story about love and bees.

One of the highlights of our week was a visit from State Representative Luke Meerman, who stopped by simply to spend time with our residents and personally deliver cards of appreciation in recognition of Senior Citizens Day. We appreciated his kindness and the opportunity to visit together.

Now we're looking forward to wrapping up the week with our Friday night movie, Remarkably Bright Creatures.

It is these moments of laughter, joy, friendship, and connection that make our community so special. ❀️

A heartfelt thank you to our faithful volunteers who help make these moments possible each week, including our weekly pianist, rotating pastors, Deacon Tom, our dedicated Bingo callers, and all those who generously share their time and talents with our residents. Your kindness and commitment are truly appreciated!

What we've been up to here at Fountain View Assisted Living:

Thursday began with a game of Trivia Jeopardy, helping everyone warm up and refresh their minds. In the afternoon, we celebrated our August birthdays. Residents helped sign cards, and more than one round of "Happy Birthday to You" was sung in honor of our birthday celebrants. Cake was enjoyed by all, making for a wonderful celebration.

Friday morning started with exercise. We learned techniques to encourage healthy lymphatic drainage through self-massage and worked on grip strength, core toning, and balance, all while comfortably seated in our chairs. We also enjoyed a visit from our hairdresser, Marian Wiersma, who brought fresh styles, warm smiles, and a boost of confidence to many of our residents.

Friday afternoon featured one of our favorite weekly activities: Bingo! Residents enjoyed an afternoon of fun, friendly competition, and excitement.

The new week started off with our God Cares Bible Study. Today's lesson focused on the peace that comes through repentance and the hope and comfort we have in Christ's grace. It was a thoughtful and encouraging time of fellowship and reflection.

This afternoon, our Bingo crowd was ready to go! Residents eagerly gathered for another round of one of their favorite activities, enjoying laughter, friendly competition, and the chance to win Activity Tickets.

Middle of the week stretch, and boy, oh boy, have we been busy!

Our Monday morning Bible study encouraged and challenged us to love like Jesus loves us. We reflected on what that looks like in our daily lives and how we can share His love with those around us. Monday afternoon brought one of our favorite activities, Bingo, filled with fun, laughter, and a little friendly competition.

On Tuesday, we were blessed to share Catholic Communion with Deacon Tom. In the afternoon, we created beautiful summer wreaths to hang on our doors. They all turned out so unique and special that I just had to share pictures! We were especially grateful for the extra help from some wonderful volunteers, including one special young lady who was celebrating her 11th birthday and chose to spend part of her day serving others. What a blessing! We also spent time in our Memory Care neighborhood sharing meaningful stories and enjoying games together.

Wednesday morning, we were blessed with a church service led by Pastor Bob VanManen from Little Farms Chapel. The afternoon was filled with more Bingo fun, including EZ Bingo. We concluded the evening with a special musical treat as Jill Brown and her flute students shared their gifts and talents, blessing us with beautiful music that was enjoyed by all.

As we look ahead to the rest of the week, we are thankful for the opportunities to connect, serve, worship, and make memories together.

Be blessed! ❀️
