Dads, husbands, men — let’s talk about why you’re exhausted even after a “full night’s sleep.”

Chronic stress keeps cortisol elevated, and elevated cortisol disrupts the deep sleep your body relies on to repair itself. Here’s the catch — most testosterone production happens during that same deep sleep.
So when sleep suffers, testosterone often suffers right along with it, and the cycle keeps feeding itself.

At the center of all of this is your nervous system. When stress is constant, gradually your body gets stuck deeper in fight-or-flight mode. This means the body has a hard time downshifting into the rest-and-repair state that real sleep requires. That’s why so many men feel wired but exhausted, deal with racing thoughts at bedtime, or wake up at 2 or 3am unable to fall back asleep.

It’s not a willpower problem or “bad sleep hygiene.” It’s a nervous system that hasn’t had the chance to fully regulate.

This is where chiropractic care comes in. By breaking the habitual cortisol driven pattern and reducing interference in the nervous system, we help the body shift out of survival mode and into the state it needs to actually rest, recover, and repair — night after night.

If you’ve been running on empty, your body might be asking for a deeper level of support, not just sleep. We’d love to help you get there!

Breastfeeding is one of the most natural things in the world. And yet — for so many mamas — it’s also one of the most painful, frustrating, and emotionally heavy experiences in early postpartum.

If you’re dealing with a shallow latch, sore ni***es that aren’t healing, a frustrated baby who can’t seem to settle into feeding — the truth is: it’s not a supply problem. And it’s not a failure.

It might be that tension held in your baby’s body from birth is preventing the proper function required for breastfeeding.

Even in the most gentle births, babies experience significant physical stress. The positioning in the womb, the process of labor, and any interventions used can create tension in the upper cervical spine and jaw — tension that directly affects their ability to open their mouth fully, turn their head freely, and coordinate swallowing and breathing.

Dr. Chris has taken hundreds hours of extensive, pediatric specific trainings to assess your baby’s whole neuro-spinal system and gently release what’s interfering with their ability to feed.

We’ve seen so many different things in here:
-babies go from not gaining to gaining 1lb in a week
-moms ready to quit breastfeeding to exclusively breastfeeding
-low supply to normal supply
-breastfeeding mamas frustrated and ‘over it’ to getting the hang of it.

Breastfeeding doesn’t have to be a fight or a challenge. When baby’s system is clear, the nervous system is functioning at an optimal level, breastfeeding is just a normal part of life.

Your body has been sending you signals. Sometimes it looks like exhaustion but you can’t sleep, anxious but can’t explain why, Tense, reactive, running on fumes — calling it normal but knowing it wasn’t always like this.

This is what nervous system dysregulation looks like. And most people are living in it without even realizing it.

When your nervous system gets stuck in fight-or-flight, it doesn’t just affect how you feel emotionally. Digestion, immunity, sleep, pain tolerance, emotional regulation, hormones — every system in your body depends on a clear, connected nervous system to function at its best.

The good news? Your body knows how to heal. It just needs the right environment to.

At The House of Chiropractic, we use INSiGHT scanning technology to assess exactly how your nervous system is functioning — and then we create a care plan to support its natural ability to regulate. We also love layering in co-regulation, movement, breathwork, (sauna + cold plunge coming soon) and lifestyle practices that build resilience over time.

But here’s the key: you can’t bio-hack, think, or breath work your way out of structural interference. The neuro-spinal foundation has to come first. When it does, everything else has the ability to fall into place

If your body has been sending you signals, it’s time to listen. Let us know how we can help and support you!

Fatigue that sleep doesn’t touch.
Joints that feel stiff for “no reason”.
Brain fog that makes it hard to focus.
Digestive issues that come and go.
Catching every bug that goes around.
Skin that won’t calm down.

These don’t feel connected... but they are.

Chronic inflammation is your body’s stress response stuck in the “on” position — quietly running in the background, showing up as a dozen seemingly unrelated symptoms instead of one obvious problem. It’s easy to chalk each one up to “just getting older” or “just stress,” but when several of these show up together, it’s worth asking why.

Many don’t realize that our nervous system is the command center for your body’s inflammatory response.

When it’s stuck in a state of stress or dysregulation, inflammation has a hard time turning off. The body stays braced, even when there’s nothing actively threatening it.

At The House of Chiropractic we look at the nervous system first — because when interference is reduced and the nervous system can function the way it’s designed to, the body is better equipped to regulate inflammation on its own.

If any of these signs sound familiar, your body may be asking for support, not just symptom management. We’d love to help you get to the root🙏🏼🤎

Has your toddler been walking on their toes more than their flat feet? You’re not imagining it — and it’s worth understanding what’s actually happening in their little body.

A lot of toe walking gets brushed off as “just a phase” or a quirky habit. And sometimes it is. But when it becomes a consistent pattern, when its been weeks, months, or they are past the age of 2, it’s often the body’s way of compensating for something deeper: tension in the dural system.

Here’s what that means — the dura is connective tissue that wraps around the brain and spinal cord, running all the way down to the sacrum (tailbone), with attachments near the heel. When tension builds anywhere along this system it can pull the entire body into a guarded, tip-toe pattern. The legs, pelvis, and spine lose the freedom to move the way they’re designed to, and toe walking becomes the path of least resistance.

This is why we look beyond the feet. Releasing tension throughout this highly connected system gives your child’s body the freedom to move fully — flat feet included.

If you’ve noticed toe walking in your little one, we’d love to take a look. Early support makes the world of a difference for our kids! Swipe through to learn more. ➡️

2 WEEK INTENSIVE:

This family traveled in to COS to do a 2 weeks intensive, consisting of 2 adjustments for their baby each day for 2 weeks. Their baby came in not gaining any weight from May-June, experiencing some latching issues and having trouble breastfeeding.

One of the things we noticed on the first is that her cranium was stuck in what’s called a “flexion phase”. Just like our lungs breathe, so does our cranium. The cranium fills with fluid and pushes it down to the sacrum, then the sacral well fills with fluid and pushes it back up to our cranium. This movement of fluid helps to nourish and flush toxins out of our central nervous system, which helps to keep our brain optimized so that our growing and developing babies can thrive.

When we are stuck in a flexion phase, the cranium can look taller, shorter from front to back and wider from side to wide. This means our cranium can fill with fluid but can’t fully expel it, so fluid doesn’t move fully and can lead to dysfunction in the central nervous system.

Through cranial adjustments, upper cervical/sacrum adjustments, CSF balancing work we were able to see tremendous change in this little one, yes with the shape of the cranium, but also with about a 10oz weight gain, a Heart Rate Variability score jumping 28 total points (which is massive) and a baby with a better quality of latching/breastfeeding.

The goal is proper growth, development, nervous system function. When our body is able to function as it should, everything else falls into place. It really is as simple as that.

If you’ve been doing all the work — the PT, the Pilates, the Kegels — and still feel disconnected from your core or pelvic floor, this ones for you.

Your pelvic floor and your core aren’t just muscular — they’re neurological. They receive their signals directly from the nerve pathways running through your sacrum, lumbar spine, and thoracic spine. When those areas carry stress, dysfunction follows and the communication gets disrupted.
Your pelvic floor can’t properly contract or release. Your core can’t fully activate and no amount of targeted exercise will override a nervous system that isn’t sending the right signals.

There’s also a trio your body relies on to function together — your diaphragm, your psoas, and your pelvic floor. They move as a team with every single breath you take.

When brain-body communication is interfered with and your breathing mechanics are compromised, that rhythm breaks down — and your whole core system pays the price.

This is why chiropractic care — specifically to the lower spine and pelvis — can be the missing piece for so many women who feel like they’ve tried everything.

Swipe through to see how it all connects. Save this for anyone who needs to hear it.🙏🏼🤎
