Camp Packing List: Pediatric Dental Edition 🦷☀️
Heading off to summer camp? Don’t forget the dental essentials! Along with sunscreen and bug spray, these five items can help keep campers smiling all summer long:
1. Toothbrush & Toothpaste 🪥
Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to help prevent cavities while away from home.
2. Floss
Flossing removes food and plaque from between teeth where a toothbrush can’t reach.
3. Mouthwash
An alcohol-free fluoride mouthwash provides extra cavity protection and freshens breath after camp meals and snacks.
4. Sugarless Gum
Chewing sugar-free gum after meals can help increase saliva flow, wash away food particles, and reduce cavity risk when brushing isn’t possible.
5. Ibuprofen 💊
For dental emergencies, mouth injuries, or tooth pain, ibuprofen is often more effective. Be sure it’s used according to the camper’s age, weight, and camp medication policies.
A little dental preparation can go a long way toward preventing tooth troubles and keeping the focus on summer fun! 🌞🛶😁
