❤️ Florida’s new mandate for ECG screenings (commonly known as EKG screenings) in high school athletics begins this fall, marking an important shift in how we protect student‑athlete heart health.

🥼 Our pediatric cardiologists are often asked why this requirement exists, so we want to offer a bit more clarity. With this new law in place, our goal is simple: to make sure clinicians and parents have straightforward, evidence‑based information about what these screenings look for — and why they’re now part of the standard athletic clearance process.

🎤 “ECG screening will definitely save lives. Florida’s new law is an important step forward in the healthcare of our children,” said KIDZ pediatric cardiologist Dr. Elliot Pearson.

To help families prepare, we’re teaming up with one of our partners — Palm Beach Children's Hospital — which is hosting a screening event for student‑athletes.
