Why do we take before and after photos?

Before and after photography is one of the most important parts of the surgical process, and it goes well beyond documentation.

These images allow Dr. Roudner to carefully assess each patient's unique anatomy before ever entering the operating room. Proportions, asymmetries, skin quality, and tissue characteristics are all evaluated in detail during this process. That analysis directly informs the surgical plan.

After surgery, comparative photos provide an objective record of the outcome. They help patients see changes that are easy to miss when you see yourself every day in the mirror. They also allow Dr. Roudner to review his own results with a critical eye, which is part of how surgical technique continues to improve over time.

Consistency matters too. Photos are taken under the same lighting, angles, and conditions so that before and after comparisons are accurate and meaningful, not misleading.

At Dr. Roudner's practice, this process is taken seriously because your results deserve to be documented with the same level of care that went into achieving them.

5 Questions Most Men Never Think to Ask Before Gynecomastia Surgery (But Should)

Most consultations cover the basics. But the men who get the best outcomes? They come in asking harder questions.

Here are 5 worth bringing to your appointment:

1. Do you remove gland tissue, fat, or both, and how do you decide?

Gynecomastia is not one-size-fits-all. The answer should be specific to your anatomy, not a default.

2. What technique do you use to avoid the crater deformity?

Over-resection leaves a permanent indentation. Your surgeon should have a clear answer for how they prevent it.

3. How do you handle skin laxity if I have excess skin?

Fat and gland removal alone won't fix loose skin. Ask what happens when tissue is removed and skin doesn't retract.

4. What does revision look like if I'm not happy with the result?

A confident surgeon can answer this without hesitation. It tells you a lot about how they take accountability.

5. How many gynecomastia cases do you perform per year?

Volume matters. This is a procedure where experience shapes the outcome more than most patients realize.

The consultation is where you figure out if a surgeon is the right fit. Come prepared.

6 months post-op from gynecomastia surgery, and the results speak for themselves.

This 25-year-old patient (6'0", 182 lbs) underwent a combination of Suction Assisted Lipectomy and mastectomy via a periareolar approach to treat bilateral gynecomastia. A total of 150cc of fat and over 40 grams of breast tissue were removed, contoured precisely to each side.

The goal was a flat, natural chest that looks like it was never any different. Can you spot the scars? Neither can we.

If you've been living with gynecomastia and wondering if surgery is right for you, the best first step is a thorough consultation to understand your options. Every case is different, and so is every treatment plan.

Surgery & day 1–2 🐱

I wish someone had said it to me before becoming a mom. Most women tear during birth and the repair is often done quickly. OBs are focused on closing the tear, not always restoring structure, symmetry and long term function. If you’re pregnant or planning to be ASK QUESTIONS before you’re in that moment because once it happens, you’re trusting someone else to make those decisions for your body

Most of the time you’re sent home, cleared at your postpartum visit and that’s it. No real guidance on what healing should actually feel like. So when something feels off later, like discomfort, pain or just knowing something isn’t right, a lot of women assume it’s normal or just part of motherhood. It’s not

I had this surgery to fix a tear that wasn’t stitched properly after birth and i know i’m not the only one. So many women deal with this quietly out of embarrassment

I hope this brings awareness if this is you, you’re not alone and you have options

One of the most common questions we get after breast augmentation: When can I work out again?

Watching crushing her workout routine is proof that with proper healing and clearance from your surgeon, you can absolutely get back to the movement you love.

Thank you for letting us be part of your journey and for sharing it so openly, your openness helps so many patients who are still in the early stages of their own recovery.

If you have questions about your own post-op timeline, our team is always here.

*Always follow your surgeon's specific post-op instructions before returning to physical activity.
