This time, Dr. Alfie meets Ricardo from just outside Cleveland. With a strong family history of prostate cancer, he doesn’t leave his health to chance. He stays on top of his checkups because his goal is simple: be there for his wife, kids, and grandkids for many years to come.

We joked that he deserved two goals for setting such a great example. 😄

Ricardo said something that really stuck with me:

“I don’t want another man taking care of my family because I didn’t take care of myself.”

That’s what men’s health is all about. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s one of the best things you can do for the people who count on you.

This Memorial Day, Dr. Paul Perito and the Perito Clinic hosted the annual Murph Challenge, a CrossFit fundraiser named in honor of Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL who fell in the line of duty in Afghanistan in 2005.

The challenge consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and then another 1-mile run.

All proceeds from the fundraiser went to the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
