Do you find yourself stuck in overthinking, second-guessing decisions, seeking reassurance, avoiding situations that trigger anxiety, or spending hours caught in OCD rituals? You’re not alone.

As part of men's mental health awareness month, Compassionate Healing Institute is launching an in-person OCD Therapy Group for male-identifying young adults ages 18–25 in Coral Springs, led by Dr. Michael Sheffield.

This group focuses on goal setting, planning, and the ex*****on of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) while incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles to help participants build psychological flexibility, face fears, reduce OCD’s grip, and move toward a life guided by their values and not their anxiety.

☀️ Summer Special: $75 per session with a 6-week commitment.
📍 In Person | Coral Springs, FL
👥 Male-identifying young adults (ages 18–25)

POV: your favorite OCD & eating disorders specialists actually have openings 👀✨

Starting therapy can feel scary, awkward, overwhelming… or like you’ve been meaning to make the call for 6 months while overthinking every possible outcome (very on brand for anxiety/OCD tbh 😅).

But taking the first step doesn’t have to be perfect. You don’t need to “have it all figured out” before reaching out. Whether you’re struggling with OCD, ARFID, eating disorders, food fears, anxiety, body image concerns, or feeling stuck in patterns that are exhausting to carry alone. We’re here to meet you with compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based care.

Sometimes healing starts with one small brave moment:
📞 “Hi… I think I need help.”

And we’d genuinely be honored to hear your story.

Call our office at 561-679-1139 to get started 💛
We look forward to hearing from you.

Feeling anxious about a certain food? Try this ERP technique: eat it without seeking reassurance. Sit with the discomfort for 10 minutes. You're teaching your brain it can handle the feeling.

Reassurance feels helpful in the moment but in OCD around food and eating fears, it actually keeps the cycle going.

Whether it’s asking:
“Is this safe to eat?”
“Do you think I’ll get sick?”
“Is this enough/too much food?”

That temporary relief reinforces doubt, strengthens fear, and makes it harder to trust yourself over time.

In OCD recovery, the goal isn’t certainty, it’s learning to tolerate uncertainty and build confidence through action.

That’s where evidence-based treatment like CBT and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) comes in:
→ Reducing reassurance seeking
→ Sitting with discomfort
→ Rewiring the fear response around food and eating

Recovery means choosing trust over certainty—even when it feels uncomfortable.

If you or someone you love is struggling with OCD and food/eating fears, support is available. Our team specializes in treating the overlap between OCD and eating disorders with compassionate, evidence-based care.

📩 Reach out to learn more or schedule a consultation.
