Fall sports are getting underway and for kids with hearing loss, a little preparation can make a big difference on the field.

Team sports rely heavily on communication: hearing a coach’s instructions, a teammate calling your name, a whistle, or what’s happening around you.

For children who wear hearing aids, talk with their audiologist about secure-fit options and how to manage sweat and moisture. It’s also helpful to let coaches know how your child hears best; simple things like facing them when speaking or using clear visual signals can keep everyone on the same page.

Hearing loss shouldn’t keep kids on the sidelines. EVERYONE should be included! With the right support, they can focus on what matters: playing, learning, and being part of the team. ⚽🏈

In honor of National Dog Day, let’s talk canine hearing health! 🐶👂

Dogs can hear much higher-frequency sounds than humans, but their hearing can change with age, too. Signs may include not responding to familiar sounds, sleeping through noises they once noticed, or seeming startled when approached.

And just like us, dogs’ ears need protection from excessively loud noise. Fireworks, concerts, power tools, and other intense sounds can be uncomfortable, and potentially harmful, to their hearing.

This just proves that healthy hearing matters on both ends of the leash. 🐾

Think of it as another piece of the bigger wellness picture -- healthy hearing is worth keeping on your radar.

It’s National Bacon Lovers Day, and yes, we found a way to talk about hearing health. 🥓👂

Research continues to point to a connection between a nutritious, balanced diet and healthy hearing. Think plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fats...with foods high in saturated fat and sodium enjoyed in moderation.

Healthy hearing isn’t one habit. It’s part of a healthy lifestyle. So, you can happily have the bacon -- in moderation! 😀

Sometimes you notice a change in a parent’s hearing before they do. 👂

It may not be as obvious as “I can’t hear.” Instead, you might notice the TV getting louder, more frequent misunderstandings, difficulty following conversation in a group, or a parent becoming quieter in situations they once enjoyed.

These changes are worth paying attention to!

If you notice a pattern, a simple, “I’ve noticed it seems harder to hear us lately. Have you noticed that, too?” can go a long way.

Start with a simple, pain-free hearing evaluation with us today. (954) 752 - 1559

😂 It’s National Tell a Joke Day!

Why did the audiologist carry a ladder?

Food for thought: Does a baby belong at a concert?

Babies’ ears are still developing, and they can’t tell us when the sound is too loud or move themselves away from it. Concert-level noise can put their hearing at risk, making hearing protection and distance from loudspeakers especially important.

Read what the American Academy of Audiology has to say and join the conversation. 👇

Can You (Or Should You) Bring a Baby to a Concert?

Have you ever seen a baby or a young child at a very noisy event? Chances are you have. And often, these infants and young children are not wearing hearing protection.

Recently, at a concert by the Colombian rapper and singer-songwriter Maluma, the show was stopped by the artist. He spoke to a parent in the audience, asking the fan, “Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are through the…roof, where the sound is blasting?” He then advised the parent to protect the child’s ears—or better yet, not bring the baby along.

📚 Back to school means new teachers, new routines...and a whole lot of listening.

For young children especially, hearing is a key part of how they learn. They’re listening for new words, instructions, classroom discussions, and the subtle sounds that help build speech and language skills.

A child may not always know how to tell you they aren’t hearing clearly. That’s why hearing health deserves a place in the back-to-school conversation.

Here’s to a school year filled with learning, confidence, and plenty of “I got it!” moments. 👂✏️
