Multimodal Approach for Migraine Treatment.

For migraine patients with concurrent neck pain, a recent study found that a treatment approach combining manual therapy, exercise, education, and lifestyle strategies—commonly used by chiropractors—may help reduce migraine intensity, frequency, and disability. The findings suggest that migraineurs who do not respond to usual care or self-management strategies may benefit from a more comprehensive, multimodal approach.

A lot of people hear “spinal decompression” and immediately think it sounds painful.

But spinal decompression is not meant to force, crack, or aggressively pull your spine.

The goal is gentle relief.

During treatment, you are positioned comfortably on the table while controlled traction helps create space in the spine and reduce pressure on irritated discs and nerves.

Most patients describe the feeling as a gentle stretch, not sharp pain.

If you have been avoiding care because you are nervous about what it feels like, you are not alone.

But pain should not keep controlling your daily life.

Contact us today to find out if spinal decompression may be right for you.

Lower back pain after lifting something can happen during real everyday moments.

Carrying groceries, picking up your child, lifting at the gym, or moving boxes can all put stress on the lower back, especially if the movement is awkward, rushed, or unsupported.

Sometimes the pain settles down quickly.

But if it keeps coming back, gets worse with sitting or bending, or starts traveling into the hip or leg, it may need more than rest.

The goal is not to ignore it and hope it goes away.

The goal is to find out what is causing it and address it early.

Contact us today if lower back pain started after lifting something.

Think your shoulder pain is just part of getting older? 🤔

As we age, tissue healing slows, collagen production decreases, and old injuries can leave behind compensation patterns that increase stress on the joint.

If your shoulder pain keeps coming back, focusing only on pain relief may not be enough.

Restoring healthy movement is often the key to long-term recovery.

Contact our office to schedule an evaluation and learn what may be contributing to your shoulder pain.📩

Device Use Linked to Better Emotional Health in Seniors.

While device use in younger populations is often associated with worse physical and mental health outcomes, a systematic review that included 28 studies found that older adults who use smartphones or tablets to connect socially, access health information, and engage in mentally stimulating activities were 32% less likely to experience depression than peers who limited technology use.

Low Zinc Levels May Increase One-Year Mortality Risk in Dementia Patients.

Zinc helps the brain work properly by supporting communication between brain cells and playing a role in memory, learning, and overall mental function. Using data from the TriNetX Research Network, researchers found that zinc deficiency raises the one-year mortality risk in dementia patients by 54%, with severe deficiency increasing the risk by 85%. Future studies will evaluate whether zinc supplementation can improve outcomes in dementia patients with low zinc levels.

There is a reason athletes struggle so much with shoulder injuries.

The shoulder works near its end range of motion during activities like throwing, swimming, tennis, and weightlifting.

Think of it like a rubber band. A few hard pulls may not cause damage, but repeated stress over time can weaken the material.

The same thing can happen to your shoulder.

Small movement imbalances can slowly overload muscles and tendons until pain starts showing up again and again.

If your shoulder feels better, then suddenly flares up, stability and movement control may still need work.
