Often, we do not realise the capabilities of our brain & body.
Truly a remarkable story. YOGA THERAPY encourages the body's natural healing. When we are quiet enough, the body will figure out what it needs.

At 8 years old, Christina Santhouse was experiencing up to 150 seizures a day.

Her brain was being severely damaged by a rare condition called Rasmussen’s encephalitis.

Medication wasn’t stopping it.

Doctors faced her parents with an unimaginable choice: a 14-hour operation to remove the entire right hemisphere of her brain.

The warnings were frightening.

She might never walk normally.
She might struggle to speak.
She might never live the life her parents imagined for her.

But Christina survived.

And then something extraordinary happened. 🧠❤️

Her remaining hemisphere began adapting, taking over functions once handled by the missing side.

She did lose some movement on the left side of her body.

But her personality remained.
Her memories remained.
Her intelligence remained.

And she didn’t merely survive.

She thrived.

Christina went on to graduate from high school, earn a master’s degree and become a speech-language pathologist, dedicating her life to helping others.

Think about that for a moment.

The doctors were trying to save her life.

Christina went on to build a life worth living.

Her story is a powerful reminder that our circumstances can change without having the final say over our future.

Sometimes, what looks like the end of the road is simply the beginning of a different journey.

The human brain can adapt.

And perhaps, in our own lives, we can too. 🌱

Never underestimate what is still possible.
