We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8 and look forward to serving you then.

😴 Tired all day… even after a full night of sleep?

It may be more than just being tired. Sleep apnea can affect both men AND women, and the symptoms don’t always look the same.

Watch for signs like:
💤 Loud snoring or pauses in breathing
💤 Waking up gasping or choking
💤 Morning headaches
💤 Daytime exhaustion
💤 Trouble concentrating or “brain fog”
💤 Irritability, anxiety or mood changes
💤 High blood pressure

Untreated sleep apnea can affect much more than your sleep, it can increase your risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and accidents caused by daytime sleepiness.

🧪 “MY LAB IS FLAGGED… WHY DOES MY PROVIDER SAY IT’S OKAY?” 🤔

You open your lab results and there it is…

🔴 HIGH
🔴 LOW
🔴 ABNORMAL

Cue the immediate Google search. 😳😂

But a flagged result doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong.

Laboratories use reference ranges to identify results that fall outside an expected range. Your provider looks at much more than whether a number has an “H” or “L” beside it.

They may consider:

🧪 How far outside the range it is — A result barely outside the reference range may mean something very different from one that is significantly abnormal.

📈 Your trends — Has this number always looked like this? Is it improving, stable, or changing?

🩺 The rest of your labs — Lab values often make more sense when interpreted together rather than one number at a time.

💊 Your medications — Some medications can affect certain lab results.

🍽️ Whether you were fasting, hydration, recent illness and other factors can sometimes influence results.

👤 YOU — Your symptoms, medical history, age, conditions and overall clinical picture matter too.

That’s why your provider may review a result marked “HIGH” or “LOW” and determine that it isn’t concerning for you—or that it simply needs to be watched or rechecked.

❤️ The flag gets your attention. Your provider gives the number context.

And one important reminder: don’t stop a medication or change your treatment based only on a flagged lab result without talking with your healthcare provider.

Today, August 31, we remember the lives lost to overdose, stand beside the families and friends who carry their absence, and recognize those who are still fighting for recovery.

Behind every number is a person.
A parent. A child. A sibling. A spouse. A friend. Someone who was loved. 💜

Overdose does not discriminate, and stigma should never stand between someone and lifesaving help.

Today is also an opportunity to talk about prevention:

💜 Learn the signs of an overdose.
💜 Keep naloxone (Narcan) available and know how to use it.
💜 Call 911 when an overdose is suspected.
💜 Talk openly about substance use and recovery.
💜 Encourage treatment without judgment.
💜 Remember that recovery is possible.

💊 “I JUST NEED A REFILL… WHY DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?” 🤔

We get it. If you’ve been taking the same medication for months—or even years—coming in just to get it refilled can feel unnecessary.

But a refill isn’t always as simple as clicking “send.” 🩺

Depending on the medication and your health conditions, your provider may need to:

❤️ Check your blood pressure, heart rate, weight, or other vitals
🧪 Make sure you’re up to date on necessary lab work
💊 Review your medications for interactions or side effects
📋 Make sure the medication and dose are still appropriate
🩺 Check how the condition being treated is doing
🔄 Update changes in your health, medications, or medical history
⚠️ Follow specific monitoring requirements for certain medications

Sometimes you won’t need an appointment for every refill. But when your provider asks you to follow up, there’s usually a clinical or safety reason behind it.

Think of it this way:

A refill doesn’t just mean, “Do you still need this medication?”

It also means, “Is this medication still safe and appropriate for you?” 💗

Be honest… which one are you guilty of? 👀😂

B️⃣ Saying you drink plenty of water while holding your third coffee ☕
C️⃣ Remembering what you wanted to tell your provider AFTER you leave 🤦‍♀️
D️⃣ Ignoring something for months and then deciding it needs fixed ASAP 😬
E️⃣ Promising yourself you’re going to bed early… then scrolling until midnight 📱
