The snowy weather today evokes memories of this day eleven years ago when, after months of hard work by friends and family—cleaning, painting, organizing, and ordering supplies, we were finally ready to open the doors of The Doc Shoppe. This innovative healthcare model, the first of its kind in our state, had us wondering whether we could effectively communicate the financial and health benefits to the community of direct primary care (DPC). As we faced the uncertainty of our opening day, the snowfall on the morning of January 6, 2014, further dampened our hopes. However, to our astonishment, our first patient was already waiting in the snow-covered parking lot, eager for us to open and warm the building. Fortunately, word spread quickly, and many others embraced and benefited from our membership healthcare model.
On this 11th anniversary, we express our gratitude to God for His strength and provision throughout this journey. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our loyal patients who have entrusted us with their care and shared their positive experiences about The Doc Shoppe. Our success is a testament to your support, and we would not be here without you.
