Massage is not always a luxury. Our bodies need touch therapy on several different levels. Have you ever thought of what massage may be able to do for your emotional health?

“If you look at the literature, it becomes apparent that massage therapy can help with anxiety, depression and/or insomnia. These benefits have been documented many times,” says Pamela Fitch, M. Ad. Ed., RMT. “However, with a traumatized population, such massage therapy benefits come with significant therapist responsibilities. It is not possible to help someone with anxiety unless they feel safe. That becomes the first order of inquiry and the most essential part of the treatment.”

Massage therapy has shown promise in helping to alleviate some of the symptoms associated with PTSD.

Hi guys! So I see I may have caused some confusion last night. I uploaded a profile photo with an old Huntersville address. I will be practicing in Cornelius and I'll have more info on that soon. Apparently, I need a refresher on how to crop photos! Sorry for the confusion!

Massage and bodywork is far from just applying lotion or oil to someone's skin and applying pressure.

Our bodies are a vessel that hold and release emotional reactions, memories, and stressors. When those are touched in a safe manner, we open a door for our bodies to allow that weight to lift.

Those memories and stressors can also become activated unintentionally when we touch others without self awareness. Providing a sense of safety should always be a massage therapist's number one priority.

Learn how being present and practicing with intention can help make your clients feel safe during a massage session—and why doing so is imperative to building trust.

Hello everyone!
It’s been a while since I’ve shared an update here. I wanted to give myself time for things to settle after my most recent shift in direction. As many of you know, I’ve always had a tendency to take on multiple big projects at once—sometimes not even knowing what’s coming next.

This year, I’m choosing to be more intentional. 2026 is about streamlining, focusing, and fully stepping into the areas I’ve grown to specialize in over the past decade.

Over the last two years, teaching massage has become a true passion of mine. Stepping into the role of Program Director at NC Massage School during a time of major change only deepened that passion—not just for the craft itself, but for the emotional responsibility that comes with it.

Teaching has also fueled my curiosity and commitment to understanding the body-mind connection, especially how safe, intentional touch can support trauma healing. I’ve spent time researching, training in different modalities within the bodywork field, and studying their effects through a psychological lens.

Through it all, I continue to be humbled and inspired by what I’ve witnessed firsthand.

With that, I’ve made the decision to rebuild my personal practice, as I still serve the community through teaching, with a deeper focus on this work—offering sessions designed specifically to support those on their healing journey.

I’m incredibly excited to relaunch In Tune Body & Soul with this renewed intention, and I’m grateful to share this next chapter with all of you.

Here’s to growth, purpose, and meaningful work. Stay Tuned...💛
