When I look at the people I have worked with for anxiety, mood instability, brain fog, and mental health concerns through a functional medicine lens, certain things are almost always true.

1️⃣They have been managing their symptoms for years through significant personal effort and they are tired. Not of trying. Of not getting further.

2️⃣Something in their mental health picture responds to lifestyle factors in ways that do not make sense as purely psychological. It changes when they eat certain things, sleep a certain way, get sick, or have a stressful month at work. That responsiveness to physical inputs is a biology signal they have never had someone take seriously.

3️⃣They have been on at least one psychiatric medication that helped partially or initially and then stopped working or produced side effects that created new problems.

4️⃣They have brain fog or cognitive symptoms alongside the mood or anxiety symptoms and no one has connected the two.

5️⃣They feel fundamentally different during certain parts of their cycle, or noticed a significant shift at perimenopause, and the hormonal-brain connection has never been properly investigated.

6️⃣They have gut symptoms that coexist with their mood symptoms and no one has ever suggested these might be related.

7️⃣They are highly self-aware. They have done significant introspective work. They do not need someone to tell them their childhood was hard or their life is stressful. They need someone to tell them what is happening in their biology.

8️⃣They have a strong instinct that there is something physical driving their mental health that has never been properly identified. And that instinct is correct.

If six or eight of these are true, this is for you.

Support for Remission

Cancer remission is more than a moment, it’s a journey.

Integrative oncology supports remission by creating a body environment where cancer is less likely to return.

That means:
✔️ Reducing inflammation and oxidative stress
✔️ Supporting immune function with evidence-based therapies
✔️ Addressing root causes like toxic burden, gut dysfunction, and hormone imbalance
✔️ Promoting emotional healing, resilience, and lifestyle balance

It’s not about replacing conventional care, it’s about enhancing recovery, protecting long-term health, and restoring vitality.

Curious how it could work for you or someone you love?
👇 Let’s explore it together.

💥I want to be clear about what I mean when I talk about brain health and nervous system support.

❌The goal is not to stop feeling things.
✅It is not to be so regulated that nothing touches you, so calm that nothing matters, so medicated that the range of your experience narrows to a manageable flat line.

The goal is a nervous system that has enough biological resources to be moved by hard things and then return.

→ To feel anxious when something genuinely warrants it and then settle back down.
→ To experience grief without it becoming a permanent physiological state.
→ To be in a difficult conversation and stay present rather than flood or shut down.

That is not an emotional achievement. That is a biological capacity.

And it depends on things like whether your:
🧠GABA pathway has the zinc and B6 it needs to synthesize its calming neurotransmitter
🧠neuroinflammatory load is low enough for your prefrontal cortex to stay online under pressure
🧠HPA axis has a regulated setpoint that allows the stress response to activate and then deactivate rather than running continuously in the background

This is why I do not think of what I do as mental health treatment. I think of it as building biological capacity so the rest of the work…
✅the emotional work
✅the relational work
✅the psychological work
…has a substrate that can actually hold it.

You are not trying to feel less.

You are trying to have a body that can handle feeling more.

Functional medicine is a modern way of looking at healthcare. Instead of just treating the symptoms when you’re sick, it tries to figure out why you got sick in the first place. This approach believes that everyone’s health is unique and takes into account everything in your life that might affect your health, including your metabolic functions, physiology and environmental factors.

Here are the main ideas of functional medicine:
1. Personalized Care: Doctors take their time to really understand your history and what you need.
2. Finding the Real Problem: They want to know what’s causing your health issues and work on fixing that.
3. Looking at Everything: They think about your lifestyle, what you eat, how stressed you are, and how you feel inside to help you get better.
4. Different Ways to Help: They might use special diets, changes in your life, vitamins, or regular medicine - whatever works best for you.
5. Staying Healthy: They focus on keeping you healthy in the long run, not just when you’re sick.

Functional medicine works alongside regular medicine to help you stay healthy and deal with long-lasting health problems.

I’m really excited to share with you a new approach to your health and resolving chronic health issues.

Most people know histamine as an allergy molecule.🤧

They do not know it is also a neurotransmitter in the brain with a direct relationship to:
📌anxiety
📌insomnia
📌OCD-like thought patterns
📌mood instability

And they have no idea that dysbiosis can drive histamine excess that reaches the brain and produces these neurological symptoms without a single typical allergy symptom being present.

This carousel covers the histamine-brain connection from mechanism to clinical picture to testing and treatment.
