Leonard Montes

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Leonard Montes, who left this world on May 27, 2026, at just 57 years old after a courageous battle with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. Leonard was so much more than his illness. He was a devoted father, beloved brother, son, uncle, and friend whose kindness and compassion touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.For 31 years, Leonard worked as a dedicated machine operator for Horton Automatics, where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and build a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and love. But Leonard’s greatest pride and joy were his two daughters, whom he loved more than anything else in this world. To know Leonard was to know how deeply he loved his girls. He spoke about them with pride, protected them fiercely, and carried their happiness in his heart every single day.Leonard was the kind of man who would help anyone, even when he was struggling himself. He had one of the biggest hearts imaginable and was known for being compassionate, sincere, generous, and endlessly giving. He never hesitated to lend a hand, offer support, or show up for the people he loved. His kindness was genuine and selfless. He was also a huge jokester who loved making people laugh. Leonard had a playful spirit and was famous for his jokes and harmless pranks. No matter what life threw at him, he almost always had a smile on his face and found ways to bring joy to those around him. His laughter and sense of humor made difficult days lighter and ordinary moments unforgettable. In 2023, Leonard was diagnosed with Stage 1 colorectal cancer. Like everything else in life, he faced it with strength, courage, and determination and successfully beat it. His family rejoiced in his recovery and looked forward to many more years together. Unfortunately, in early 2026, the cancer returned. Before doctors were able to catch it, it had metastasized to his lung. In March 2026, Leonard was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. Despite beginning chemotherapy and fighting with everything he had, the disease progressed quickly. After only two short months of treatment and battling this devastating illness, cancer took Leonard from us far too soon. While our hearts are shattered by his loss, we find comfort knowing that Leonard is no longer suffering and is now resting peacefully in Heaven alongside his beloved sister, Maria Radke, and his mother, Rita Montes.

Jose Luis Flores

With profound sorrow and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Pastor Jose Luis Flores, who entered into the presence of the Lord on May 19, 2026.

Born on October 8, 1949, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Pastor Jose Luis Flores lived a life marked by faith, compassion, perseverance, and a relentless passion for reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ. Before fully dedicating his life to ministry, he worked as a licensed barber, often cutting his sons’ hair in the family kitchen — simple moments that reflected his love for family and servant’s heart.

In 1977, he graduated from the Latin American Bible Institute (LABI) and answered the call God placed on his life, beginning a lifetime devoted to preaching the Gospel and serving others.

Pastor Flores faithfully served in ministry for many years under the leadership and spiritual guidance of his pastors, Freddie Garcia and Ninfa Garcia. Following the passing of Pastor Freddie Garcia, he continued serving faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Jubal Garcia, carrying on a legacy of ministry, mentorship, and devotion to God’s work.

Together with his beloved wife, Lucy Flores, Pastor Flores founded Victory Life Fellowship and Outcry in the Barrio in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1981. Side by side, they dedicated their lives to building ministries centered on hope, restoration, and the transforming power of God. Their ministry reached countless individuals and families throughout South Texas, Mexico, Puerto Rico and other parts of the world.

Pastor Flores also served for a time as Regional Director of South Texas, where he faithfully encouraged and strengthened pastors, churches, and communities throughout the region. His heart for people and unwavering commitment to ministry left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

A lifelong student of God’s Word, Pastor Flores earned his GED and continued his theological studies through the Wilmington School of the Bible, also known as Liberty Bible Academy. His years of service and dedication were recognized through numerous honors, including the Jefferson Award, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award, the Hometown Hero Award, and the distinguished honor of having a day officially proclaimed in his name by the City of Corpus Christi.

Known for his lively spirit and warm heart, Jose Luis was a joyful prankster who deeply loved people. His generosity, kindness, and selflessness touched countless lives. He had a presence that naturally drew people in, and photographs seemed to capture that spirit perfectly — the camera truly loved him. Beyond ministry and service, one of his greatest joys was studying and teaching the Word of God.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucy Flores; his mother, Esperanza Vargas; and his father, Tomas Flores.

He is survived by his loving children: Bithiah Torres (Anthony Torres), Jose Luis Flores Jr. (Sara Lara), Jefte Luis Flores, Janet Flores, Joey Flores (Maria Flores) his brother Rueben Flores (Louisa Flores), his brother Tommy Flores, and nephew Valentin Flores.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Eliana Eliza Torres, Jose Damian Flores, Nia Elizabeth Flores, Nathaniel Moreira, Adriana Moreira, Christina Esperanza Flores, Melanie Marie Gonzales (Jose Gonzales), and Joey Flores Jr.

His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Jr. Moreira, Zeus Moreira, Athena Moreira, Esekia Moreira, Alexsandra Magdalena Gaytan, Emilia Isabella-Marie Gaytan, and Lilyanna Esperanza Gaytan.

He is also lovingly remembered by Gabriel Pinto, a son by choice, and by Edgar, the son he carried in his heart and longed to one day meet.

Pastor Jose Luis Flores will be remembered for his unwavering faith, compassionate spirit, powerful testimony, and his lifelong mission to remind people that they mattered to God. His legacy of ministry, restoration, and love will continue for generations to come.

Burial services will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.

The Flores family welcomes all whose lives were touched by Pastor Jose Luis Flores to join in honoring and celebrating his remarkable life, ministry, and legacy.

Salvatore Michael Iacono

Sal entered peacefully into the arms of the Lord surrounded by the love of his family. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in Heaven and reunited with his beloved daughter, Ashley, whom he deeply missed since her passing in 2012 at the age of 23.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was marked by extraordinary kindness, patience, and quiet strength. He treated everyone he met with compassion and gentleness, and children especially loved being around him. His warm smile, caring heart, and calm spirit reflected the goodness he carried within him every day.

He shared a deep and loving bond with his wife, Diane, who stood faithfully by his side through life’s joys and hardships. Their love was built on devotion, perseverance, and unwavering care for one another, and she will forever cherish the memories they created together.

He found joy in God’s creation through fishing and golfing, cherishing the simple moments spent outdoors with family and friends. He lived his life loving others faithfully, always willing to help, listen, and encourage those around him.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Diane; his older sister, Marie; his younger sisters, Michelle and Tara; his brother, Chris; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.

While we grieve the loss of his presence here on earth, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We hold onto the hope that death is not goodbye forever, but a reunion yet to come. His love, faith, and gentle spirit will remain in our hearts always.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Her kitchen was always filled with warmth and the tantalizing aromas of dishes prepared with love.
