Christmas came a little early at Palma Real this year! 🎄🎅🏻

We had such a wonderful time helping spread holiday cheer during their Christmas in July celebration. From festive outfits to smiles all around, it was a joy celebrating with the incredible residents and staff.

This summer, we’ve had the incredible opportunity to partner with Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi’s nursing program to give a group of final semester nursing students a closer look at hospice care in action!

Throughout their clinical rotation, these students are learning how hospice focuses on comfort, dignity, symptom management, and improving quality of life for patients facing a life limiting illness. They’ve also seen the importance of supporting not only the patient, but the entire family through education, guidance, and emotional support.

We had the incredible opportunity to spend time with the Del Mar Physical Therapist Assistant Program during their Death & Dying Circuit!

As healthcare professionals, PTAs play a valuable role in recognizing changes in a patient’s condition, understanding when it may be time to discuss additional support, and helping patients maintain comfort, safety, and quality of life.

Thank you for letting us share the signs and symptoms that may indicate hospice eligibility, explain how hospice and palliative care support both patients and families, and discuss how interdisciplinary teamwork helps ensure compassionate, patient-centered care during life’s most challenging moments. 🩺💙
