High blood pressure, or hypertension, often develops slowly. You may feel completely fine even while your blood vessels and heart are under significant strain — which is why it is often called a silent condition.
The best way to know if you have high blood pressure is regular screening:
➡️ Most adults should check their blood pressure at least once a year
➡️ Those with risk factors such as diabetes, a history of smoking, or a family history of hypertension should monitor it more often
➡️ Home blood pressure cuffs are accurate when used correctly and can give you an early picture of your health
Talk with your doctor if your readings regularly stay above 130/80!
