Today, we're recognizing National Dog Day by highlighting the important role animal-assisted therapy care can play in supporting emotional well-being. 🐾

Our beloved service dog, Max, helps create a more comforting hospital experience by visiting patients, families and colleagues. His presence can help brighten someone's day and provide comfort during what may be a stressful time.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), interactions with therapy animals may help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, improve mood and encourage social connection. These benefits can play an important role in supporting overall mental and emotional wellness.

If you or someone you love could benefit from behavioral health support, we're here to help. Learn more about our inpatient and outpatient mental wellness services: https://bit.ly/3Ue37t7

What if you could learn more about your heart health before symptoms appear?

Coronary artery calcium scoring and coronary CT angiography (CCTA) are advanced imaging tools that can help detect calcium and plaque buildup in the arteries and provide valuable information about your risk for heart disease.

For some patients, these screenings can help physicians identify concerns earlier and guide treatment decisions before a heart problem becomes an emergency.

If you have risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, a history of smoking or a family history of heart disease, it may be time to start the conversation about your heart health.

Take our heart risk assessment to better understand your risk factors and learn whether it may be time to talk with a provider about your heart health: https://bit.ly/4gngzlR

🤰 Did you know low-dose aspirin may help lower the risk of preeclampsia for some pregnant women?

In this video, Dr. Seth J. Herbst, an OB-GYN with HCA Healthcare, explains what preeclampsia is, who may benefit from low-dose aspirin and why talking with your doctor about your personal risk is an important part of prenatal care.

According to March of Dimes, preeclampsia affects 1 in 25 pregnancies, and many people may not know they’re at risk. Every pregnancy is different, so talk with your doctor about your risk and whether low-dose aspirin may be appropriate for you.

Through our partnership with March of Dimes, our broader HCA Healthcare network is helping raise awareness about preeclampsia, the importance of risk screening and conversations that can support healthier pregnancies.

Sepsis can happen when the body has an extreme response to an infection. It can become life-threatening quickly, so knowing the warning signs matters.

In this video, Dr. Sydney Hester, an infectious disease doctor with our broader HCA Healthcare network, shares what to watch for and when to get emergency care.

At HCA Healthcare, our Sepsis Prediction and Optimization of Therapy (SPOT) system continuously monitors vital signs, lab results, nursing reports and other data to detect often subtle changes in a patient's condition and alert clinicians to signs of sepsis so they can take appropriate action.

If you or someone you love may be experiencing signs of sepsis, don't wait. Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room: https://bit.ly/4wEG1cH.
