A new month always feels like a little invitation to slow down long enough to notice what’s ahead.

Maybe it’s cooler mornings finally making their way to South Texas, a new routine, something you’ve been looking forward to, or just the feeling of turning the calendar page and starting fresh.

Whatever September brings, I hope it holds plenty of good conversations, small joys, and moments that remind you how much beauty can fit into an ordinary day. 🤍

I have a question for you today. What’s one ordinary thing that makes you ridiculously happy?

Maybe it’s fresh sheets, hearing your favorite song in the car, a really good cup of coffee, or finding out the meeting you were dreading got canceled. 🫣

Mine might change depending on the day, but I think we could all use a few more reasons to enjoy the ordinary. Tell me yours!

The brain really is remarkable. It spends every day taking in information, responding to what’s around us, learning, remembering, adjusting, and doing about a thousand things we never have to consciously ask it to do.

That’s a big part of what keeps me so interested in neurofeedback. The more I learn about the brain, the more I want to learn. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of being amazed by it. 🧠🤍

Maybe it’s breakfast on the porch, a good book, time with family, or simply sleeping in for an extra hour.

One of my favorite parts of the day is when someone walks through my office door for the first time.

Sometimes they’re excited.

Sometimes they’re nervous.

Sometimes they’re simply curious.

No matter what brings someone in, I hope they leave knowing they’ve been heard.

That matters to me. 🤍

Isn’t it amazing how the brain recognizes familiar faces?

Before we’ve even said a word, our brains have already begun sorting through memories, emotions, and connections.

I still find that incredible.

The more I learn about the brain, the more fascinated I become by the way God designed it. There is so much happening behind the scenes every single day.
