Kelly Proctor, Diagnostic Imaging Secretary in the Southwest Health System’s Diagnostic Imaging department, is recognized as Southwest Health System’s August employee of the month!
Kelly was recognized by a co-worker, who said, "I would like to nominate Kelly for Employee of the Month for her exceptional compassion, dedication, and commitment to providing outstanding patient care. As a Medical Imaging Scheduler, Kelly treats every patient with kindness, grace, and respect. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that patients feel cared for from the very first interaction. When patients have urgent imaging needs, she works tirelessly to find a way to accommodate them as quickly as possible, often finding openings or rearranging schedules to ensure they receive timely care. One of the many things that stands out about Kelly is her positive attitude. She always greets patients and coworkers with a smile, even during difficult times in her own life. Her professionalism, resilience, and genuine care for others never waver. The biggest reason I wanted to nominate Kelly is her extraordinary commitment to serving our Spanish-speaking patients. Because our scheduling area is open to the public, she felt uncomfortable relying on interpreters for every conversation, as she believed it could compromise patient privacy and confidentiality under HIPAA. Rather than accepting that as the only option, Kelly took the initiative to learn Spanish herself. She has dedicated her own personal time to studying through Duolingo and regularly asks bilingual coworkers to help her improve her conversational skills. Her goal is simple: to communicate directly with her patients, make them feel more comfortable, and provide them with the highest level of care while protecting their privacy. Kelly's willingness to invest so much of herself into improving the patient’s experience speaks volumes about her character. She embodies compassion, initiative, integrity, and excellence in everything she does. Our patients, our team, and our organization are better because of her, and I can think of no one more deserving of being recognized as Employee of the Month."
