What are your “little things”?

Someone once told me to always
live for the little things in life
Live for 5am sunrises and 5pm sunsets
where you'll see colors in the sky
that don't usually belong.
Live for road trips and bike rides
with music in your ears and
wind in your hair
Live for the days when you're surrounded by
your favorite people
who make you realize
that the world is not
a cold harsh place.
Live for the little things
because sometimes that's all we have
because they will make you realize that this is what life is about,
this is what it means to be alive.
So forgive and forget
you only get one chance
one chance to say I love you
one chance to jump.
Because in the end
we only regret those chances
that were invisible to the world.
Because someone once told me
to always live for the little things in life ..

Scheduling Announcements

Hello everyone ✨ Thanks for being here. I know that many of you find your way to Reiki through InnerVision Wellness and My Reiki Place - and I'm grateful to share Reiki with you (especially first timers!) 💖

Having shared that, I also need to share that I'll be taking a break for the summer. I'm in need of some healing respite, relaxation, and recreation. To make that happen, I won't be offering Reiki in June, July, or August.

I plan to return with regular hours in September. I'm also considering offering both Reiki I (Shoden) and Reiki II (Okuden) this fall (so keep your eye on this space, or sign up for my email list http://eepurl.com/iCjhfc and be sure to mark your interests).

Today can still hold something gentle.
Not everything has to be faced
all at once.
You’re allowed to let a little light in without fixing the rest.

Look for those who carry the light…

In world that often feels heavy with sadness, it is important to remember the warmth of love and the brightness of light that still exists.
Each day, we hear more about bad news as it captures attention more than happy moments.
However, when negativity tries to pull us down, we should take a moment to search for the good around us.
Look to the sky, where the sun rises each morning, painting the clouds in soft hues of gold and pink. Notice the gentle flicker of a candle, its flame dancing gracefully, bringing a sense of calm and comfort. Remember the lamps that glow in the evening, guiding us back home with their soft light.
There are people that carry this same light within their soul ...seek them out.
These little things remind us that even in tough times, there is beauty and joy waiting to be found.
By directing our attention to these sources of light, we can lift our spirits and share that positivity with others.

Embrace ❤️

Getting older is a journey of self discovery, much like peeling an onion to expose the structure.
Each layer we peel back reveals a deeper understanding of who we are, as if we are uncovering layers we never knew existed.
This process is akin to the age rings of a wise old tree, each ring telling a story of growth, change, and strength.
With each year, we learn more about our strengths and resilience. We have faced challenges that shaped us, teaching us how to stand tall even when the winds of life blow strong.
Beneath the many layers of experiences, emotions, and lessons, we find a solid core that holds us firm. This core is a reminder of our ability to endure and overcome.
Like the old tree, we grow wiser with each ring, and we come to appreciate the beauty in our journey, finding strength not only in ourselves but also in the experiences we carry inside ...

Give yourself the permission you need…

You can't turn back in this life
You can only keep moving forward.
So it is pointless to carry regrets with you.
Never dwell on bad decisions made,
it could be that you were meant to go in
a certain direction, in order to learn a
valuable life lesson.

Rather than overthinking the things we feel
we got wrong, it is better to accept that
the outcome may not have been what we
wanted, but could possibly have been just
what was needed.
We are always being prepared for the way
forward, but at times, we just won't realize
it until much later.

So instead of feeling we failed or thinking
'if only', isn't it better to look back with
gratitude, understanding difficult times
aren't random or the result of a mistake or
an error of judgement but rather a piece
in the bigger picture of what is to come.
The picture of who we became ..
And that it has made us who we are today ..
