BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Upon approach Fox is sitting relaxed at the front of her kennel. When greeted by the assessor, she begins meowing at the assessor quietly and purring, rubbing her face on the kennel door. She begins reaching for the assessor gently with a closed paw. When the assessor opens the kennel door, Fox comes forward. The assessor offers her their hand to smell, Fox headbutts their hand and begins kneading into the base of her kennel where she stands. Fox accepts head and neck pets leaning in. She accepts full body pets lifting her hips and back into the assessors hand. Her body remains relaxed with a high tail and she continues to knead and purr throughout all petting. Fox has no reaction to stomach touch and allows pickup without issue. Once placed back down, Fox approaches the assessor and continues to solicit attention.
Fox interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.

Adoption Summary: Meet Fox!
Fox came to ACC after her beloved owner passed away, and she is understandably taking some time to adjust to this big change. She is a shy but very sweet girl who would love a patient person willing to let her settle in at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, Fox has a gentle and affectionate side just waiting to shine.
My Ideal Home:
Fox would do best in a calm, quiet home where she can take her time getting comfortable. A patient adopter who understands that trust can take time would be the perfect match for her.

ABOUT TRANSPORT: In some cases, when rescue has approved adopter there may be FREE TRANSPORT up to a 4 hour. radius outside of NYC, including all or parts of NY, NJ, CT, PA, NH, VT, RI, MA, MD, DE & DC (see the transport map provided). More distant adopters can meet the transport van, (i.e. a NC or VA adopter could meet in MD or DC, or an OH adopter could meet in PA).
ABOUT KITTENS: Kittens under 8 wks old & under 2 lbs, due to fragility are NOT PUBLICLY ADOPTABLE. They can only be pulled by a rescue group for specially-trained, pre-approved kitten foster homes in NY, NJ & CT.
ABOUT PLEDGES: Pledges are paid directly to the 501(c)3 RESCUE that pulls the cat. The Rescue Donation link (if known) will be posted for pledges to be honored. Pledges do not guarantee that a cat's life will be saved but it may help a rescue decide if they can pull the cat and cover his/her medical needs, vetting expenses.
