A Heat Advisory is active from noon on Tuesday, August 4th, to 11 PM on Wednesday, August 5th, with high temperatures reaching 95-100 degrees.
Extreme heat can be especially tough on adults with IDD, seniors, and those with underlying health conditions.
A few quick reminders to help you and your loved ones beat the heat:
💧 Drink water regularly throughout the day.
🏡 Find Air Conditioning: If needed, head to a public cooling space like a library, community center, or local mall. Call 2-1-1 or visit 211info.org to find cooling centers near you.
🕒 Avoid Peak Sun: Try to stay indoors during the hottest parts of the day, usually between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
💊 Check Medications: Some medications make the body more sensitive to heat. Check in with a doctor or pharmacist if you're unsure.
❤️ Check on Neighbors: Take a few minutes to call or visit friends, family, and neighbors who might need extra help staying cool.
