We are excited to announce that Wayne County Hospital has been selected as the regional Hub for Iowa’s Combat Cancer Health Hub Program!

Through this partnership with Decatur County Hospital, Clarke County Hospital, and Lucas County Health Center, we will work together to improve access to cancer prevention, screening, patient navigation, treatment coordination, and support services across South Central Iowa.

This $31.5 million statewide initiative is designed to strengthen cancer care, reduce barriers to access, and improve outcomes for rural patients and families. We are honored to be among the organizations selected and proud to help lead this important work in the communities we serve.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our providers, staff, leadership team, Board of Trustees, and community partners who work every day to improve healthcare access and outcomes for our region.

While the award remains subject to final contract ex*****on, we are incredibly excited about the opportunities this program will bring to our patients and communities.

For emergent medical needs, Wayne County Hospital’s Emergency Department is open 24/7.

🎬 Big news for Wayne County Hospital!

We are honored to share that Wayne County Hospital was selected to be featured in Small Towns, Big Care, a public television program produced by All Access with Andy Garcia.

The program highlights the unique challenges facing rural healthcare organizations and the innovative ways communities like ours continue to grow, adapt, and provide exceptional care close to home.

Last week, our team welcomed the film crew to Wayne County Hospital and throughout our community to capture the stories, people, and partnerships that make healthcare in rural Iowa possible. From our dedicated providers and staff to the patients and families we serve, this project showcases what makes our hospital special.

We are incredibly proud to represent Wayne County and rural healthcare on a national stage.

Filming went smoothly, and we are excited to share more details in the coming months about when and where the program will air.
