Postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis are not the same thing.

One is relatively common and treatable. The other is rare, but it’s a psychiatric emergency that needs immediate medical attention.

As a PMHNP, one of the biggest things I hope people take away is that new parents deserve support—not judgment. The sooner symptoms are recognized, the sooner treatment can begin.

My VI Peel… day by day. 👀

And yes… some of these screenshots are from Live Photos, so excuse the awkward faces. 😂 I was trying to show all the areas that were peeling, not win any modeling awards.

Everyone heals a little differently, so your experience may not look exactly like mine.

You’ll also notice I ended up with a cold sore. I hadn’t had one in years, but between the peel, launching Crystal Cove Wellness, a lot of stress, and not enough sleep, my body had other plans. If you have a history of cold sores, let your provider know before your peel. We can often prescribe medication to help reduce the risk of an outbreak. And having had a cold sore before doesn’t mean you’ll automatically get one after a peel.

Even with that little bump in the road, I’d absolutely do it again. I’m really happy with how my skin is healing and excited to see the final results.

A little behind the scenes of my own VI Peel. 👀

One thing people don’t always realize is that the prep matters just as much as the peel itself. Before anything goes on, I make sure my skin is completely free of makeup, sunscreen, oils, and any leftover products so the peel can be applied as evenly as possible.

The application is actually pretty quick. Then comes the waiting (and yes… the peeling 😅).

Boston weekend dump ✨⚾️🎓

Finished school in December, but finally got to walk for commencement this weekend in Boston for Regis College. From teen mom of 4 by 20 to CNA, LVN, RN, and now PMHNP 🤍

Fenway, good food, family time, and a full circle moment I’ll never forget. It truly takes a village, and I’ve been blessed with the best parents, siblings, life partner, friends, coworkers, and mentors.

Not all our kids made this trip because we’ll all be together this weekend in Vegas for our bowling tournament 🎳
