New Directions For Women

New Directions For Women Women, women with children and pregnant women are welcome at our nationally recognized, certified, oldest gender-specific addiction treatment center in OC.

New Directions for Women is a gender-specific facility exclusively for women suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, chemical dependency, and other addictive disorders. We offer addiction detox and rehab services for women, pregnant women, and women with children. We believe that all women deserve care despite their ability to pay for treatment. Every woman and child who comes through our doors rec

eives some amount of scholarship funds. Our aim is to raise half a million dollars a year, which goes directly to the Pamela Wilder Scholarship Fund to ensure more women and their children are able to receive the quality treatment they need. By providing exceptional, gender-separate and specific addiction treatment services that are grounded in 12-Step principles, New Directions for Women assists women, families and their children to achieve sustained responsible recovery from addiction.

✨Yesterday was a pretty special day at New Directions for Women. 🤍

We had the incredible honor of welcoming Dr. Carisa Schweitzer Masek with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Dr. Monty Burks, Director at the HHS Faith Center, and Dr. Timothy Westlake, Chief of Staff for SAMHSA, to our campus.

We spent the afternoon sharing the nearly 50-year legacy of NDFW, our approach to treating women and families impacted by substance abuse, and—most importantly—having meaningful conversations about how we can work together to expand access to quality treatment and recovery support for people across the country.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have leaders at this level walk through our doors, hear about the work happening at NDFW, and dream bigger with us about what is possible. This was a BIG one for our little nonprofit, and we’re excited about where these conversations can lead. 🤍

Nearly 48 years of showing up. 🤍

Some of our leadership team had the privilege of spending time with Carolyn Fisch, a longtime supporter and volunteer whose impact on New Directions for Women spans nearly five decades.

Carolyn was first introduced to New Directions in 1978 when her sponsor encouraged her to come share her experience, strength, and hope with the women in our program. What started as one act of service turned into a lifelong commitment to supporting women in recovery.

Carolyn, thank you for your unwavering dedication, your heart for service, and for believing in our mission for all these years. The lives you’ve touched over the last 48 years are immeasurable, and we’re so grateful your legacy is woven into the story of New Directions. 🦋

We are incredibly grateful to Jaime and the team at Don Churros Gomez for their generosity in treating the women of New Directions for Women to some absolutely delicious churros!

The girls loved getting out of their usual routine and enjoying such a special treat together. From the warm hospitality to the spectacular menu, every bite was amazing. It may seem like a small gesture, but experiences like these bring joy, connection, and a sense of community to the women we serve.

What makes Don Churros even more special is its rich history. The Gomez family’s churro recipe dates back more than 50 years to Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico, where their grandparents first began making churros in 1969. They brought that generations-old family recipe to Orange County and have continued sharing their authentic, handcrafted churros with the community ever since.

If you’re in Orange County, do yourself a favor and stop by Don Churros! Whether you’re craving a sweet treat, looking for a unique dessert spot, or wanting to support a wonderful local family-owned business, it’s a must-visit.

Thank you again, Jaime, for making the girls’ day a little brighter. Your kindness and generosity mean more than you know. ❤️

We want to extend a very heartfelt thank you to this incredible group for choosing New Directions for Women as the beneficiary of their Hope Starts Here event. 🤍

This amazing community came together with compassion, generosity, and purpose to create essential care kits for the women at NDFW — assembling more than 56 bags in under 3 hours!

Not only did they pour their time and love into supporting our clients, but through their dedication and generosity, they also raised an incredible $39,000 to support the life-changing work happening at New Directions for Women.
To everyone who donated, shared, volunteered, attended, and encouraged this mission — we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity and support help continue the mission of NDFW by providing women and their families with the opportunity to recover, rebuild, and begin a new path toward healing.

We are beyond grateful for every person who played a part in making this event so meaningful. Your kindness is a powerful reminder that hope truly does start here. ✨
