Patient-centered care should include patient-centered flexibility.

When patients ask whether they can follow up with their other eye doctor, the answer should be based on convenience, quality, and continuity of care, not unnecessary rigidity. Giving patients that option can make recovery more manageable while preserving strong communication between providers.

Flexibility does not weaken care when the system is built well. It strengthens access.

How do you handle follow-up when local care is the better fit?

Watch the whole conversation with opthalmologist, Dr. Omar Krad , on our YouTube channel. Link in bio.
