During pregnancy, your body adapts.

But low back pain, urinary leakage, pelvic pressure, hip discomfort, and constipation don’t have to be dismissed as “part of pregnancy” — pelvic floor therapy can help.

Birth preparation is a huge part of addressing symptoms, managing pressure, maintaining strength and relaxation, and balancing pelvic floor function.

And the evidence increasingly suggests that pregnancy is a critical time for pelvic health education and intervention.

Scar tissue after any abdominal surgery involves more than just the skin.

Layers of subcutaneous tissue, fascia, abdominal muscles, the peritoneum, and (if applicable) the uterus can all be affected. Each layer heals on a different timeline; so although the skin may appear closed, deeper connective tissues are still recovering.

Scar tissue can cause abdominal restrictions, hindering the organs’ ability to move functionally, contributing to pain and causing difficulty with normal functions like bladder and bowel function.

Scar tissue mobilization is an evidence-based approach to support the body’s healing and address underlying tissue restrictions. Whether you’ve had a C-section, laparoscopic surgery, appendectomy, hysterectomy, or another abdominal procedure, scar tissue mobilization can help!

If you’ve been dealing with stubborn hip tightness, deep glute pain, or even labral issues, there’s a good chance your pelvic floor is part of the story. And if you’re navigating pelvic floor symptoms (leakage, heaviness, pain, or instability), your hips are almost always involved.

Hip pain isn’t always a mobility problem. At times, the hips are actually too mobile, leaving the pelvis with less support than it needs.

Pelvic floor therapy restores coordination between the hips and pelvic floor, building hip stability, restoring hip mobility, and retraining the pelvic floor.

Chronic Prostatitis is one of the most common urologic diagnoses in men, and it’s often treated as a purely urologic issue.

Men are prescribed antibiotics or alpha blockers, and then sent on their way. But 95% of cases are driven by non-bacterial factors: restriction caused by the muscles, nerves, and connective tissues. Studies have even begun to demonstrate the impact of stress and psychosocial factors on CPPS symptoms.

So when your antibiotics are no longer working, where do you turn? Pelvic floor therapy has consistently proven to be a top treatment method for CPPS.

Prostate cancer treatment can affect identity, confidence, intimacy, emotional health, and the nervous system as a whole. Many individuals feel frustrated when symptoms persist longer than expected or when they are told leakage is just something to live with.

Recovery is rarely linear. Healing involves the nervous system, movement system, emotional processing, tissue recovery, and rebuilding trust in the body.

Tonic & Phasic aims to create a supportive environment where individuals feel educated, empowered, and guided through recovery with realistic expectations and individualized care.

At Tonic & Phasic, hormonal health is a key part of our work as holistic pelvic floor therapists. When we get a clear picture of hormone levels, patients can see:

a) their hormone baseline,
b) what may be imbalanced, and
c) what we can do together to support hormonal balance and overall health.

(Bonus: Patients can also track how different treatment approaches may influence their hormone health over time.)

Hormone tracking isn’t just for fertility support. Although we often use Inito to support fertility outcomes, we also incorporate hormone tracking into treatment plans for pelvic pain, endometriosis, dyspareunia, vaginismus or vulvodynia, and even bladder and bowel conditions.

So we tried out their new device for you.

Inito’s Insight Wireless Reader is a great way to get precise data on your hormonal health, and it can provide important data for your pelvic pain treatment as you work alongside a holistic provider.
